For the Spurs to complete the Gasol signing, they're working on a trade to move Boris Diaw, league sources tell @TheVertical.

just asking the PT's opinion on the matter

He'll gain 100 lbs as soon as he leaves the Spurs.

So, for a question like this, you would also have to post the steps that would have to be taken in order to make it possible, and then I can give a proper answer.

Would I give up my 1st to dump Asik and then get him? No. Would I stretch Tyreke to get him? Nope. Would I dump Ajinca and maybe Babbitt? Sure. Would I dump Tyreke? No- I'd like to use my cap space on a guard if we did that

MM would stretching Reke essentially be a 3yr 11m thing if I'm understanding correctly ?

This only applies to older contracts right? Asik isn't elligible?

If he signs with another team does that count towards the stretch? Say he gets 3m elsewhere does it become 3/8?

I'm so rusty. I didn't think we had any contracts left to stretch.

Dammit last questions, if it was stretch Evans as our only means of keeping Frazier, would you? Hypothetically.

Is the stretch part of the rumors that had us chasing rondo at one point?

Any contract can be stretched. You are confusing it with the amnesty, of which we have nobody eligible

Also, we were never after Rondo. The plan, if they can dump Reke is to get a veteran guard and Frazier, along with a forward as well.

Something like Felton, Frazier, and Thomas Robinson to round out the roster. Then, theoretically you would have the room exception if you like one of your SL guys

So we're actively shopping Reke to clear space for those guys? Would they stretch him as a last resort?

Doesn't sound like they would stretch him unless they can land a guy better than expected.

If we ever need to stretch Asik does the final year non guaranteed count as the full amount?

The amount of guaranteed money is what is stretched. So, if he is stretched after next year for instance, it would be about 25 million stretched over 7 years

But I wouldn't get too concerned with all that. Benson gives the GM a hard cap to work with and the odds of this team stretching a guy with multiple years on his deal is slim to none IMO

Thanks for info. Id assume you're right but maybe the TV deal lining his pockets can help there. Maybe the best we could hope for on any stretch is Demps telling him he's got a true 2nd/3rd banana lined up and that is the space we need.

I applaud you hoping for the best. I am not nearly as optimistic with this ownership. I think Dell has to trick somebody into taking Tyreke ASAP and then round out the roster with more hungry, hard working guys. Then, Asik has to get healthy and play at a serviceable level. If he does, you can dump him in Feb or July of 2017

Do you think we could trade Tyreke to the sixers for one of their frontcourt players if we add in a 1-18 protected first round pick since they have so much cap space

Could Dell really go to ownership with a request to stretch Asik anyhow? Considering Dell traded a 1st rto acquire him and then pushed to re-sign him to 4/$44M just last offseason.

I don't think Dell has it in him to admit that big of a mistake this early.

I have no clue why Philly would even consider that if we are being honest with ourselves.

Yea I agree but I saw a rumor on some random basketball site with a trade for Tyreke for Okafor

Tyreke has negative value right now. Okafor might not be worth a top 5 pick, but he has positive value. Not to mention the Sixers took Simmons and signed two ball handlers for decent money. Why would they have any interest in putting the ball in Reke's hands for a year and freezing those guys out?
