Obviously I'm super excited about what he wants to (and hopefully does) accomplish with the Pels, but what was very interesting for me to hear was how little it seemed he enjoyed working with the Cavs.

-Said he didn't enjoy the "you better win it all right now" approach.
-Said that the way they won was very non-organic.
-Won a championship but it wasn't even very enjoyable.
-Mentioned it was tough to build the family environment because the future was always up in the air (Lebron only signing 1 year contracts).
-Said Gilbert had to spend more money than any owner ever just to win that title with the approach they took.

He may not win a title here (Hopefully he wins multiple), but it seems like he's genuinely happy to be here, loves Ms. Benson, Trajan Langdon, Swin Cash, etc., and his looking forward to building a family here.

I also loved the bit where he talked about Zion and how he sees himself as a part of the team and not the headliner. By all accounts, Zion seems to be in the right mindset to become a star. As far as putting in the work goes, Griff said he's gonna be held accountable just like any other play. And that Zion welcomes that.

You guys are smoking crack rocks if you think NAW is taking minutes from Moore anytime soon.

Exactly I’m sure he does think highly of Moore as a person and a respectable basketball player but Moore will not be on this team after this season. Very expendable and will be a solid trade asset come trade deadline

The Pels aren’t doing better than the 8 seed this year. If NAW is on the roster, he’s playing more than Moore. Moore will likely be inactive until he’s traded, IMO

I thought his comments were interesting on the shorter windows to win titles.

Some people have talked as though we are on a six or seven-year timeline to win a title, and I feel certain that Griffin is not thinking that way. I have been thinking that the craziness of free agency and the crazy contracts given to ordinary players, the best plan to win a title is when you've got the possibility of still having Zion, Hayes, and NAW on initial contracts.

Am I wrong?

I really want to see what the Melli guy is all about. We badly need a sharpshooting stretch 4.

In another interview, Griffin said that they got him because he excels at a particular kind of dribble-handoff play that Gentry really likes to run. So, I think that they have a very specific plan for him to get a couple of 3s per game.

First thing that caught my ear was Griff said they took the decision out of ADs hands as soon as they realized he couldn't be all in. Said we decided to move on

But also according to him AD was the main focus on trying to resign, even after we drafted Zion and well after AD wanted out. He wasnt all in a loooooong time ago.

I find it extremely classless that AD didn’t even bother thanking the city or fans on his way out. You do that even if you don’t mean it. I’ve never seen a player go from such a good guy to such a douchebag in so little time. When we play the Lakers I’m telling Zion or Favors to knock his block off a few good times, damn the fouls.

Hayes is probably one of the only guys AD can run over. A strong fart will blow that kid over.

“You can change your vision of yourself and circumstance simply by believing in it”

I’m more and more impressed with Griff every time I listen to him. It’s very interesting to hear him mention how the Cavs title win wasn’t even enjoyable because it wasn’t organic. They weren’t building a long term winner there. He’s seeking long term sustainable success with The Pels and the importance of culture like “San Antonio, New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints”. This dude just gets it.

If this was the NFL you wouldn’t be wrong. In the NBA it experience is 10x more important. Very rarely do you see young teams (multiple key players under 25) competing for titles in the NBA. The only one I can think of is the OKC anomaly, with russ, harden, and KD.

Curry just turned 27 when they won the title in 2015 but Klay/Draymond/Barnes were 25 or younger

I wish that people would stop posting 'Ingram can be traded for bigger assets or future assets', Ingram is very much in Griffin plans for the future. Every time Griff talks about Ingram he raves about his ability and how much he loves the kid, even before the trade he spoke very high of Ingram and this never happens if Ingram wasn't included.

We agreed to trade AD prior to the draft. Do you mean the lottery?
