Per Woj:

Hawks trade Prince and 2021 2nd for Crabbe, #17, and 2020 lottery protected first

Does this help their package to acquire AD? I think it does i.e. Prince and #27 on draft night...

Yeah, I would say that it does. I mean, I'm still not 100% sold on a Brooklyn package if you include Prince, but he's a good piece to have.

I don't really think so.

They no longer have 17, 2020, or 2021 (Stepien Rule) available in trade.

Prince is good, that's true, but the Nets basically just traded away all of their major draft capital.

The only way it does anything for us is if Griffin indicated he doesn't give a shite about draft picks...but why wouldn't they all just wait and make this a 3 teamer?

Problem is that they also traded their 17th pick

Prince, Harris, LeVert, Dinwiddie, Kurucs, #27, Hawks 2nd, 2022 1st, and 2024 1st - I find it interesting

Help who? the Hawks? they've got more picks to throw at us now. They gave up on Prince. I think he's a a very unintelligent basketball player and the Hawks got tired of trying with him. Still a good player, but i think they think they were never going to get more out of him.
The Nets don't have any picks to throw our way now. I can't believe they just gave up two firsts for Prince.

Maybe it turns into a three-team or as Chad said maybe the Hawks feel like they can make a run at AD.

Picks + Collins + Crabbe

Trade isn't complete until July 6th, I would guess that it could turn into a 3-teamer if needed.

Prince is good but that's VERY steep for unloading Crabbe

Hell I would've taken a Crabbe/Solo swap

Prince is good but to me he's just another dime to add to all of their dimes to try and add up to a dollar (AD).

They gave up picks to get off of Crabbe and opened 2 max slots for free agency. Prince was a young piece on a rookie deal that they can slot in as a starter, if needed.

They wouldn't though, the biggest part of this is that they have 65mil in cap space now.

Didn't think about that. Makes sense then.
Can they sign the two max guys, then resign Russell?

Yup. They have to be pretty confident that Kyrie is coming, and that they at least have a shot at Durant.

I think the two max slots is without DLo's cap hold, so no. But I could be wrong.

Real Talk.

If Brooklyn is able to get Kyrie and KD, the Knicks should just either fold the organization or move to Seattle.

Nah, they have about 65 mil in space, and his hold is 21 mil. So, they would have about 45 mil in space to sign other players.

They could either sign two max guys and let Russell walk, or sign a max guy, and a 10 mil guy, and bring Russell back.

Not saying this is going to happen but if they somehow land Kyrie and Durant, they would have 2 max guys and somehow have a decent set of role players around them.

Allen
Durant
Prince
Dinwiddie
Kyrie

LeVert
Harris
Kurucs

That's pretty damn good in the East.

Atlanta now has 3 picks in the top 20 and then 3 very early 2nd round picks.

I wonder what they plan on doing with all of that, doubt they use all of the picks.
