Has anything going right for us this year? Owner dies, Boogie gets hurt, Mirotic has been garbage, and we are about to choke the playoffs away

Well the good news is we are still up 1 game and have Phoenix and Memphis next. Denver has no easy wins left.(Minnesota 2x, Clippers, Portland, Pacers)
Not saying we can't blow it, but we still have some things in our favor

estimated denver point spreads remaining:
nuggets -4 vs. pacers
nuggets -5.5 vs. wolves
nuggets +4.5 @ clips
nuggets -2 vs blazers
nuggets +3.5 @ wolves
basically, they could easily win or lose any of those. 5 tough games.
pelicans' remaining spreads look more like this:
pelicans -11.5 vs. grizz
pelicans -7 @ suns
pelicans +7 @ warriors
pelicans +4.5 @ clips
pelicans -1 vs spurs
pels have the 2 highest probability games, a couple tossups, and the toughest game
just from a mathematical standpoint, it would be unlikely for denver to win more than we do over these last 5. next 2 games are legit must wins. then probably just gotta win 1 of the last 3.... but if we continue playing like we did today, AD will be watching the playoffs from his couch again

Portland will probably have the 3 seed locked up by then. If so they might rest players
Posted on 4/1/18 at 10:18 pm to NorthshoreTiger76
yep portland could rest players against them. its possible spurs have clinched their seed for our game against them too. might be other rest scenarios as well

Wednesday will be interesting to see how they come out and play

This is 100% coming down to the last game of the season against the spurs

10-game winning streak hurt our perception of Pels.
They should have gone 7-3 in that stretch and be in line with Clippers and Nuggets.
Talent wise without Boogie they are in 7-10 range.
They should sneak into playoffs still. Because of the schedule (next two easy games. GSW resting guys/injured players). But mostly because opponents playing each other.
But man. OKC is sooooo trash.

Yeah, that 10 game streak made it more likely they make the playoffs, not a middle seed. It always was going to play out like this, although I'd have expected at least 1 win in the last 3 and they did lose a game last night they would have won if AD and Jrue been just average. It's never good when the home broadcast can run a lowlight reel of your star player mid game. It's like AD was out at the strip club all night with Billy Bob and Tweeder.

Dallas about to beat Portland
GS about to beat OKC
But Utah up 13 vs LA Lakers and Denver up 7 on Indy
I rather OKC and Portland win, Utah and Denver to lose

And just as I post
GS wins vs OKC
Denver only up 4 going into the 4th

Too bad the Pels can't win a game lately. They might have clinched a playoff spot by now
Posted on 4/3/18 at 10:07 pm to NorthshoreTiger76
We need to close strong and finish with the 6th seed or better. 7th or 8th seed has sweep written all over it and that’s not any better than missing the playoffs entirely

What an epic collapse by the Pelicans. If they don’t win these next 2 consider them toast
All you had to do was win one of the last four. fricking ONE

Denver is too hot. We're toast.

Denver plays MIN (x2), POR, and LAC
Win 3/5 and you’ll be in.

Pelicans playoff odds down to 63%. Nuggets up to 41%. If we somehow lose tomorrow, they pass us
