Rivers has been playing pretty good ball, he's producing more per minute than Gordon, let gordon come off the bench for 20 minutes a game. It's clear he is not a crucial piece to our team now nor in the future.

I find that Gordon NEEDS the ball in his hands a lot to be affective. Not sure that would translate well with Jrue, Tyreke, and AD. I could be wrong but I believe some of our 4th quarter woes last night came when trying to play Rivers with the normal starters. Just seems like it would take the ball out of better players' hands.

Its apparent you don't watch the games or you just have eyes out for one guy

being a starter doesn't mean closing out games. I think Gordon can find a better nitch off the bench than with our starting lineup.

Rivers would need a bit of time adjusting to playing 4th fiddle with the starters but i think it can work out long term.

I had been for this too, but he's starting to break out of his slump and he's hustling and playing better defense than we've ever seen from him. I say let's give it more time to see if he can return to normal on offense while keeping the improved defensive intensity. If we have any hopes of trading him/opting out/buying out next year, he probably needs to be seen as a productive starter.

Rivers played like arse last night, while Gordon has actually been playing decent basketball lately. The better question is why is Luke fricking Babbitt the first one off the bench?

Was more referring to how I've seen him play alongside the normal starters.

I wouldn't mind a transition where EG is first to the bench and then can bring him back out with the bench still on the floor ... try to balance minutes with starters/bench

I'm just afraid "benching" Gordon (even though it's not like that) might mess with his confidence even more. Knock on wood but it appears he might be starting to come along (or it's just false hope after 2 good outings)

Pelicans pregame were talking about how our strong bench input has been helping the team's good start. Which made me think, besides Flamethrower and Rivers, who else is really contributing consistently to the team.

I've said that Luke brings nothing to the table except for allowing a starter to rest. If he can find his jump shot then I will think differently, but the dude didn't even attempt one shot last night.

He plays no defense. Could be a problem

I feel like if Gordon gets benched for Austin Rivers he'll sulk and pout and claim a knee injury and we'd get nothing out of him.

You will be hard pressed to find a bigger EG hater than me. EG has been busting his arse lately and he is slowly but surely finding have a shot. He could very well turn into the spark we need on a few nights.

Rivers has done nothing to earn a starting spot, IMO.

I agree. His attitude has changed a whole lot since we first acquired him. It bugs me when fans boo him, so whenever he gets announced I cheer extra loud.

I know it's old news but if anyone hasn't read how he got traded to New Orleans it's an interesting little story. If I was only 22, I might have acted the same way. They're rich but still human.

Why isn't Russ Smith playing at all?

Too many guards maybe. He's been getting listed as unactive because we are too healthy. Idk whose roster spot he'd overtake.

Jeff Withey was a 4 year guy and DPOY in college, but he didn't get any significant minutes as a rookie until late January at a position the team was thin at. It just takes a while to get acclimated to the league, and Smith is playing at a position that isn't thin. We may not see much of him this season.

He needed to get more shots. He's put back to back games of strong shooting, but Reke and Jrue decided to play hero ball in the 4th. AD and EG should have handled majority of it, they were hot (EG wasn't "hot", but he was open a whole lot after the other two drove the lane).

He's shot 4/4 vs. Minny (2/2 from 3); 4/6 vs. Portland (2/2 from 3).

Feel like he should at least shoot it a couple more times, he had the high % shot over those damn drive and toss it up for hope.
