Who is your favorite sleeper in this draft class?

Who is your favorite prospect who isn't projected to go in the lottery? There is alot of intriguing players in this class.
Mine would be Nikola Jovic. 18 year old who is essentially a 6'10 guard. Crafty player, good handles for his size, good shooter, good finisher at the rim, extremely intelligent player. His creation and playmaking is his bread and butter. I think he's a better athlete than given credit for as well.
Plus, I always like Euro guys for small markets, because they typically aren't diva types. They just go out there and play and try to help the team win. Unfortunately he won't be there for our second round picks and I don't see him going top 10, although I think a decent case could be made that he should. I like him alot more than boom or bust prospect Ousmane Dieng for example. But if we were to trade down, with Charlotte for example, I would love to take him with one of those picks. Here's a breakdown:

Anyways, that's the guy I'm enamored with who isn't a projected lottery pick. Who is yours?

I actually like him a good bit as well and am surprised he hasn’t managed to get more buzz.
One of those players that it’s hard to envision not at least becoming a solid role player in the league. And also not hard to imagine ends up with a Hedo Turkoglu like career.

Same. I think he could go late lottery and surprise people. I expected more buzz around this late in the process, especially since his workout videos have looked really good.
If we could make that deal with Charlotte and walk away with Jovic and Sochan, that would be a dream draft for me.

Great video. Looks like a future big time player

Mine is Jalen Williams out of Santa Clara. 6’6” wing with a huge 7’2.25” wingspan. He’s one of only 2 guys in NBA Draft Combine history to be in the top 10% of max vert, three quarter court sprint, and length/height. The other guy is Donovan Mitchell. His max vertical reach is 12’0.5” that’s more than guys like Aaron Gordon, John Collins, and even Rudy Gobert measured. It’s not a stretch to say he’s uniquely long and athletic.
But he’s not just long and athletic, he’s extremely skilled as well. He’s already a good three level scorer, capable of getting to the rim, pulling up in the midrange, and he shot 40% from three. The best aspect of his game is probably his passing though, specifically out of the PnR. He was the 2nd most efficient ball handler out of the PnR in the country last year. He projects as a secondary ball handler imo.
I think he’s more of an offensive player than a defensive one at this point, but I like his upside there as well, to a point. That’s not to say he’s bad defensively, but I don’t think he offers much switchability, but I like his potential defending guards with his lateral quickness and those long arms. I can imagine him just swallowing up some guys. I think he’s a pretty high IQ guy, and it comes across with his passing, but it also comes across with his off ball defense. He does a good job using his length to get in the passing lane, defend shots, etc etc.
I think he’s a sleeper that could potentially go in the lottery.

Another guy I like is EJ Lidell. You see Boston playing these undersized bigs a lot of minutes in the Finals and I have no doubt in my mind he’s a future contributor in the playoffs. A little undersized at 6’7” but has a 7’0 wingspan and at 243 he’s strong enough to play inside, but also light footed enough to defend on the perimeter. Improved every season from the outside at OSU, from 19%, to 34%, to 37%, with increased volume every season, and I think that upward trend continues. He’s not a secondary playmaker or anything like that but I also think he’s a decisive passer, accurate passer. I would find a way to add him to our roster.

For months mine was Jalen Williams when he was considered a late first/early second round guy, but now there’s talk of him sneaking into the lottery. I don’t think he counts anymore as a “sleeper”
Terquavion Smith from NC State apparently has been tearing it up in the competitive portion of the combine and in workouts just like Bones Hyland did last year. Those guys always seem to stick around in the league. *Ive been corrected. He withdrew his name*
I’d be ok with us taking a flyer on Peyton Watson if he is still around in the early second. He’s 6’8” with a 7ft wingspan and was a big time recruit out of HS. His game is unrefined and his offensive stats were rough last year but he went to a veteran UCLA team so there wasn’t a lot of minutes/role for him. He showed enough flashes of defense and rebounding for a young guy that he’d be an intriguing developmental pick that has all the physical tools to make it in the league

He pulled out the draft, which is surprising because he was getting top 25 buzz after the 2nd day of the combine and left early.

I haven't been sold on anyone for this draft this year but if we pass on this Jovic kid I might melt.
HOW IS THIS KID NOT getting top 5 talk?

Wow, missed that news, that’s surprising. I guess he didn’t get a 1st round guarantee from any team.

I like Wendell Moore. Good size and athleticism. Good shot and can create. Very high IQ and very sound defensively.

Edit: nvm I actually read OPs first sentence in the thread lol. You’re right.
