With OKC's interest in Gibson it wouldn't shock me if we are the third team in that deal and send Jones to Chicago

OKC gets Gibson and Grant
Chicago gets Payne and Jones
Pels get 2nd rd pick

Pondexter and 2 2nds to Lakers for Swaggy

You would be shocked how many possibilities are "real" right now. But they all depend on other things happening or not happening

Honestly, if I were a GM, I would lose my shite on deadline day with all the things you can't control

He was asking the other poster incredulously. Jones is the piece we don't need.

Yes, thank you. Obviously moving TJ for Richardson is a steal, given the circumstances.

Alright. Maybe I'm missing something. Someone explain why Josh Richardson is a steal, other than just nice piece to add.

Yes, I know y'all don't mean Boogie steal, and yes I realize Jones wants out.

A wing with just below avg steals, boards, assists with < 40% shooting from field.

23 got room to grow. Nice stretch of games last year, but why is it a steal?

You add a young prospect that may can develop into a solid role player and can be extended while over the cap. Also at positions of limited depth. Jones isn't going to get a contract because he will be too expensive.

Pretty much. Given the circumstances, it's a strong move for us that makes sense for them.

1. We need a versatile guard who can spell at the 1, 2, or 3. He's a versatile guard who can spell at the 1, 2, or 3.

2. He's on a rookie deal with a team option for a very reasonable $1.4M next season with Bird Rights.

3. Jones wants out and is on a 1 year with no Bird Rights and will not sign next year.

This isn't some huge franchise-altering deal, but you couldn't really ask for more in return for a player who won't play anymore and has no value to you in the offseason. Getting something for nothing is a steal.

Understanding all of that already. I stand by it's a nice piece, not a steal.

A small steal is still a steal.
