You think we're at a crossroads?

What about the Lakers?

Despite having Lebron, Davis they have been in the play-in just about every year and clearly can't beat Denver.

Dinky was probably right in hindsight. They should have intentionally lost our game. I think they can beat almost anyone in the West other than Denver.

But this year, they were relatively healthy and still couldn't get into the top 6.

Lebron will be a year older. Ruffles will no way stay healthy two years in a row.

Russell is the epitome of hot and cold and is probably gone.

Could next year be the year the wheel completely fall off? Or will they somehow get some team to bail them out again this offseason?

I'm not even sure what that would look like?

For our sake, I think we hope they run it back again and one of Lebron/AD picks up a major injury.

The west is going to be loaded next year and any major injury to Lebron or AD puts that last laker pick into the top 10 of next years draft.

Lebron pulled out the "It's just basketball" last night. I can't see him walking away and leaving $50 million on the table, but I think he has come to the realization that he needs a lot more help than he's getting in Los Angeles. It probably wouldn't hurt to go back East either.

If Russell walks they don't really have a way to replace him, outside of the TPE.

Are they really going to throw away their future (1st round picks in 27, 29, and 31) to attempt to win a championship with a 40 year old LeBron that can't get out of the play-in with a healthy AD next to him?

I actually think Lebron, curry, durant, cp3, etc try and make a super team. The old man squad.

Team USA will be where they make the plan

I have a feeling LeBron opts out and heads somewhere else, maybe Cleveland, but definitely back to the east.

Jokic broke him.

But Lebron is going to put serious pressure on the FO to trade for probably someone like Trae Young.

Funny thing is, if Spida wanted to be a Laker long term and Lebron wants out, it's pretty much the perfect trade.

I could see it making sense from the Lakers perspective, cavs not so much, they are up 2-1 on a good Magic team, and almost won fifty games in regular season, why would they give up a good young player, for a 40 year old who walked out on you twice, and if LeBron can't win with the Lakers roster, he is really not going to like that cavs roster without spida

Because Mitchell has 1 year left on his contract and basically 0 chance of returning to Cleveland.

Also, the CLE roster is much better than the Lakers roster IMO.

Don't think Lebron leaves LA. The only caveat would be to play with his son for one season before retiring.

Mitchell has one year left on contract so trade for a 40 year old who doesnt play defense and is injury prone, who is also only going to be there for one year? Cavs would be better off trading Mitchell for picks and a role player who is under the age of thirty

Ad is a top 75 player, there is no other team LeBron can realistically go to and get more help than he has now

LeBron is going to opt-out and go somewhere else. Whoever decides to draft and stash Bronny is going to get him. It'll be arranged before the draft. The Lakers are about to rebuild again.

They aren't that good. They are a play in team that will most likely get swept in the first round. They weren't going to beat anybody but us. They're not a good basketball team.

No chance

3 through 12, the Lakers are one of the worst teams in the NBA. That matters.

Lebron and AD are at worst, 2 top 20 players. They were a play in team. That tells you that you have to have a little something past your top 2 players.

They are a really poorly constructed team. Swapping Lebron for Mitchell, this Cavs team would be better than this Lakers team, I don't think it's terribly close.

Do you still have the power to put pressure on the front office when you are 40 years old and can't get out of the first round?

They would be foolish to trade a pick 6 years away to try to win a championship with a 40 year old who isn't getting any better. The Lakers got 70+ games out of LeBron and AD this season and still had to play in the play-in, only to get crushed in the first round. Trading away all of your depth and future first round picks to hope that Trae is the answer would be foolish.

Honestly he might be He was pretty incredible this year and deserving of all-NBA team. Played 71 games as well. Kind of crazy to think about how good he is for his age.

Buss isn't rich like other owners, all her wealth is tied to the Lakers, and there are many financial reasons to want Lebron to retire a Laker.

So yes, I think he has a lot of power provided he truly would opt out if he didn't get what he wanted.
