So 11 games It doesn't matter how you space them out.

In an 82 game season, these days 75+ would be a full season for a star seeing that you almost have to expect a team to do load management.

In a 72 game season 67-70 would be a full season imo. That being said, you didn't see me complaining about the amount of games he played that year.

Oh, you think a full seasons means a player has to play every single game.

would losing weight be a possibility?

would learning and submitting to a different diet not only lose weight but improve bone density?

regardless, I'm not hoping like you that after years the light shines on him.
he's a force when he plays but I don't want to bet he plays. I hope he plays and plays well, right away.
and the minute draft season starts I'm moving the commodity at its recent high.

Of course it would, plenty enough data to see this. I’ve always questioned the amount of influence nba development staffs have compared to the nfl. In the NFL teams tell players we are moving you from strong to free safety and we want you to report 15lbs. under your current weight. NBA players seem to have way more latitude.

One thing pelicans need to do is revamp their dietician section. We are one of the worse ones in the league. Embarassing.

I can't remember us having a really well physically developed player. I mean someone that truly develops past expectations and is in way above average condition.

Kind of like with David West, where he just kept getting more muscular and defined year after year. Am I missing someone?

Other than AD in recent memory, have we even had any dudes here long enough for something like that?

For fun…would you have take Cade & Detroit’s first this season (and future 1sts) for Zion at trade deadline.

Hell yes. I LOVE Zion. But at some point it becomes more and more likely that IF he figures out his health one day it’ll take awhile and likely once we’ve moved on.

I think four years is a pretty fair sample size to project what we can expect for the rest of his career. I honestly feel like the latest injury is the most telling of the 4 years. If a simple hamstring injury sidelines him for three months, his ability to heal is just miserable. When do we start having a realistic conversation about with the team could look like with assets acquired from his trade rights? I just feel like everyone already knows in their gut that this guy is never going to be healthy enough to push this team to major success. But we sure as hell could a acquire a lot of assets if we admit the inevitable early on.

Zion is our best player. You have to wait still unfortunately. Look at Embiid. He took until year 3 to suit up. And only played 2/3 of the 3rd season. Look at him now! I really love our guys on this team, but I understand at this point questioning whether the current core could ever work. There are some obvious issues in general, but mainly do we trust Ingram‘s ion and an aging CJ to start all of a sudden being able to stay healthy all at once?
I think Zion, and Trey are the only untouchables right now. Jose because of his contract and his value shouldn’t be moved in any scenario either. I think Ingram is the best to trade as far as the return we’d receive. Zion would be undervalued a lot right now on trade market bc of the health concerns.
I like Jonas, but I think everyone would be less than surprised to see him shipped out this off-season. And CJ is good for the culture and still has something to offer while also not gonna demand near as much of a trade return

I’m still heavily in the ‘wait’ camp… and frankly we have his contract under control and complete autonomy.

We are one of the best with him. We will never get a star like that here through trade or free agency. We have to wait… and keep everything crossed for a healthy season or 2… that will be our best and probably only shot of winning a title.

I don't believe this. We are basing assumptions off tiny sample sizes. The team was great early this year with Zion for about 20 games. Last year the team thrived for about 30 games at the end of the year. You can nitpick and find these short spurts in every season. You shouldn't build and project success off of flashes.

I'm not advocating trading Zion. I don't think that's going to happen and the FO is tied to him. But it's still fun to talk about. IMO everybody has a price, nobody is untouchable. Just not realistic that any of our major players are moved this offseason..

So you guys watched this team go from 1st in the west to 10th without Zion

You angling for that 1/3 of the season first place banner? Guys has played 38% of the games in his career thus far.

Posted this yesterday, then read a tweet today that Jaxson Hayes is now in the top 10 all time for games played with the Pels, so yea, that confirmed my post

pels extended zion in the middle of an injury recovery.
the opposite of a threat.
at the time there was talk of him going free agent.
oh no. please sign this extension. we hope some day you can get play.

Shouldn't be viewed as a threat, just what the team needs from the contracted player. Player incentive should be how to best help the team for the given contract and improve their future value --> $.
