He seems to be missing a lot more shots outside the lane. Here's the last few seasons to compare

2017-2018

2016-2017

2015-2016

He clearly seems to be struggling this season. Do you think his change in shot selection has to do with Alvin Gentrys system, or him just not getting the open looks he used to?

We have de-emphasized that part of the floor in this offense, so I would suspect the few shots he takes from there, the 50 or so that exist, many were taken late in shot clocks, out of the flow of the offense, and generally speaking, just not the shots AD is typically looking to take. So the percentage has dropped accordingly.

Gentry has hurt his development. Monty was doing an outstanding job with Davis and he gets fired. Fire Demps, then Gentry, in that order.

Pay Olajuwon to tutor him.

He's asked to get his own shot more and expanded to a 3pt shot.

I do wish we worked on his free throws, he misses spurts in some games and it's just infuriating

It's much less of a focus in his offense. I'm just surprised you'd look at that map and go "woah, AD's mid range jumper has fallen off a cliff!!".

Considering the previous two seasons the majority of his shots were from mid range or in the paint, I think its an important aspect of his game. He is struggling with it right now, and I've noticed it in games.

He's on pace for the least attempts from those two areas in the last 3 years. The dunks are nice, but its important for his Mid Range to be effective and create offense outside the paint

this might be the worst post i've seen on here in a while.

Davis is getting most of his shots at the rim, is converting at nearly 80%, is converting in the paint at nearly 50% according to your charts (which is bonkers), and you're worried about his mid range FG% on 50 attempts?

dude, take a lap

He makes 5 more of those and he’s up to 40%, and you wouldn’t be starting this thread. It’s just an issue of volume right now, his FG% will correct itself with more shots from that point. Though I hope he doesn’t take many of those, he’s been good from 3
