Rumors of Altanta and Pacers wanting to get involved heating up.

I'd like to get Sabonis or Turner a lot more than Lavine.

I’d take a Demar Derozan and Ricky Poetel or Sabodis and Oladipo deal over the Lakers’ supposed offer.

Weakening other West competitors is as important as acquiring assets IMHO and the Lakers are going to have to go all in this season or LeBron will force his way out. And no AD raises the chance he forces his way out.

Turner appears to be the better player, but I guess Sabonis is younger, cheaper, and possibly has more potential?

They're the same age. Only a couple of months difference.

Turner is locked up at $18m for 4 years.
Sabonis has one more year before needing to be extended.

I guess the question is who fits better and how much will Sabonis command once a RFA.

I agree. I value a defensive big to put next to Zion more than a scorer, especially if we're already getting Ingram.

Turner is already making close to $20M/year

I'd rather Sabonis who's only been in league 3 years and already at a 22 PER. We could possibly extend him for less than Turners contract.

I'd love to get Turner.
Still need some 3 pt shooting and floor spacing for Zion and Jrue tho.

I know INgram is decent at that, but does Turner have a shot?

If a deal for Atlanta looked something like:

LAL - AD
ATL - Hill, #4
NOP - Ball, Ingram, Kuzma, #8

I think that would be pretty good. We open up alot of space and still have a top 10 pick to go with the LAL players.

So you're moving from 4 to 8, just to get off of Solo's contract? Ehhhh

We open up alot of space

Is that really a concern for us at this point? Do we care about space this year?

I think Griffin would MUCH prefer more assets than space.

That opens up a lot of cap space for Griffin to be able to go out and get a young veteran in free agency. Also, it the Pelicans believe as the media does that the talent from 4-10 is pretty even, they may get a similar player at 8 that they could get at 4. If the rumors of Atlanta targeting Reddish are true, that could mean that White or Hunter could be there at 8.

I’m using the examples of what PG13 and Kawhi returned in their trades.

Point is that the “rental” market isn’t going to be that much worse than what the Lakers are offering and has the added bonus of destroying the Lakers’ current team.

ATL moves into the top 4 just for taking on Solo's contract? Pelicans would be better off buying him out

I think situation dictates a lot of this narrative of players. If he played on a team with a solid defense, I think he could be a good contributor. The Pels don't really have a player that can get his own shot when the offense breaks down, he could be that type of player

Could be. He has the offensive skill set to be an asset. But you have to think good teams would be beating down the door for him if he could fit within an offensive gameplan and not be a guy that wants to go rogue and get numbers

If his focus is getting a young veteran, does it matter if it is via the trade or free agency? I would prefer a Celtics deal or if a LAL deal, a 3-way with Indy that brings us Turner, but this is not terrible.

I don't think he cares about that, nor do I think that will be too much of a concern.

I think he wants to maximize a variety of assets: Vets, Young potential, picks spread across drafts.
