We needed to make moves at the trade deadline and we didn’t.

It’s this simple. If we make the moves we should’ve made at the deadline we are easily still a strong contender in the playoffs, even if we still don’t have Zion. It’s laughable the only move we made was for Josh Richardson. We are back to the same lousy Pels it’s so damn aggravating.

We aren't in a good position, especially without Zion for who knows how to long.

It wasn't the time to go all in.

It really isn't simple. There are financial factors in play, the biggest of which is starting the clock on the luxury tax for a team that hasn't had its two best players most of the season.

Yup, agreed with this entirely. If Zion had returned say two weeks before the deadline and looked healthy, yes, that would have been a fine time to upgrade at rim protection or shooting, but too much uncertainty right now

I wouldn't be so sure since Zion masks a lot of these issues especially during regular season play. These issues would have been exploited in the playoffs for sure.

I would still imagine they'd wait until the off-season to shake up the roster and won't cross that tax threshold no matter what happens during this season.

What trade would you make? They tried to make other moves, but we either didn’t have the right salary to send back (Beasley), or teams just weren’t moving those guys (Bridges, OG, Bojan, Collins)
