The fact that this thread has to be updated almost daily is pretty hilarious.
What a shitshow.

Anyone have an Excel spreadsheet? That’s easier for me

At this point best case for the season is probably having a healthy team the 2nd half of the year and attempting to make a run through the play-in. Or just tanking, but that's unrealistic if you actually have everyone healthy by January.

I think its very possible that either or both CJ/BI get traded at deadline if this shitty season continues. Which makes even more sense to tank.

Iirc last year Memphis was this way.

Id bet any of y'all 100$ that he's comes back as soon as everybody else is back.
He literally just played on the injury and scored 29. He was not hurt any more in the game he played. He could play right now if the team was healthy.
I don't think he's really injured, maybe just soreness.
Hopefully this is a "this is your last chance to lose weight" type of scenario. They're probably hoping he can get down to at least 295 before everyone returns.

Don't disagree, but after all that Memphis ended up with 9th pick in the draft and drafted Zach Edey. I know other things would happen if the Pelicans tanked but throwing away 2/3 of a season (assuming everyone is mostly back in the next 15 -17 games) feels like a lot to not end up of with top 4 odds of the first pick. Not sure Pels can be that bad even with a tank.

The east right now is so bad that the 3 seed is 0.500 and 4 see has a losing record 0.455
While the west has 10 teams above 0.500 and 11 is 0.500
We can't out tank the east if we actually get healthy in December. Issue is we may not be good enough to be a top 10 seed.

With the season turning the way it is and I know BI has been great this year but what are the chances Griff trades him midseason? I don’t see what riding out BI in this horrible season provides us if they don’t see him in the long term plans. Trading him may actually help our tanking efforts.

Quite frankly, yal can hate, but this is where you trade zion and keep Ingram.
The issue is you'll be stuck with mediocrity because you don't have a star. But you would have a balanced team and hopefully you can land a star using a new warchest.

Thats an interesting option. Heres another one- trade both. Start over, gather assets. Soft reset. Get more picks to find a star through the draft or trade.

I think Murray is the most debilitating injury we have. Remember, he was a 21/9/8 All Star PG his last year in San Antonio. He can make these other guys better, and he's good enough to pick up a lot of slack when the scorers are out. On top of that, he looks like he'll be the vocal leader and caller outer that this team has been missing.
If he doesn't go down I think the Pels are sitting at .500 or better and we aren't all in a "Fire everybody and blow it up" panic.

You’re probably right. But maybe its for the better long term. I mean if we’re being honest, even healthy, what was the ceiling of this team?

With Willie 5-6 seed at best yearly. Need a switch there to judge this team fairly
Edit: Thanks for the thread

Couldn’t agree more. And he’s also the key we need to determine which one, if either (or neither) of Zion or BI we should actively shop. To me we can’t really evaluate the way forward until seeing how this iteration of the Pelicans performs with a legit lead guard.

Everybody in the training and medical staffs need to be fired.

If Zion continues to miss a month or two every season with a hamstring injury, when do you trade him for assets?
He doesn't help us missing 20+ games every season, especially when most of the time its at the end of the year

I don’t want David griffin hiring the next coach. If Gayle lets him hire another coach she’s crazy . No gm gets to fire and hire 3 coaches .

I stopped keeping up with the team when Herbert got hurt.
One of the few good decisions I've made lately.
