Ok stop. This is ridiculous. No one is saying that. He will not turn into a journeyman. The extreme takes need to stop.

Why? Because he takes such great care of his body and is dedicated to improving his game each offseason?

I guess it totally normal for ascending players to level out years 4-7, take a dip in year 8, then explode into superstardom the next 5 seasons. That totally happens all the time..

Hes 26/27. You’re acting like hes 34. Its just a silly take.

The same people want to give BI an extension or bring him back despite his horrendous showing to end the season and his inability to shoot 3s and change his game. CJ meanwhile changed his game completely and had a very good year.

CJ McCollum and Trey Murphy were both considerably worse than a hobbled Brandon Ingram in the playoffs. I'm not sure how you have twisted yourself into thinking those guys are somehow less to blame than BI. They were both completely healthy and sucked.

Please name one instance where BI did not take care of his body. You're just throwing out piss takes at this point, Mark.

From a regular season standpoint CJ performed ridiculously well. I agree the whole team struggled in the playoffs including CJ. But CJ statistically and shooting the 3 did very well in the regular season. He did everything the team asked of him and changed his game. That was my point. BI did not do this.

One instance? Have you not seen him? He's sub 200lbs at 6'8. He's paid to workout and train. Where's the development?

Shooters like Malik Beasley, GTJ, and Kennard are signing for super cheap. CJ’s a great shooter, but at $30M compared to the $5-10M those guys are getting, not many teams are going to see CJ as anything greater than neutral value, if that.

It will be easier to get off CJ’s salary next offseason when the cap increases 10% and CJ is expiring.

I'm not a fan of ectomorphs. I do not believe that their body types lead to long, productive athletic careers. There are outliers, like Durant, but most struggle with injuries, plus are never able to develop muscle. Most have very short careers, especially in contact sports.

Would it shock you if Wembenyama was out of the league in 5 years? Or Holmgren? Great talents, but history is not on their side..
