He's taking up too much volume of the shots on offense. We have more efficient options on the offense. Davis is avg 3.3 less shots per game yet avging a whole 21% better efficiency.

DC is at .467 FG%, one of our least efficient players that get any sort of substantial shots. He doesn't get calls from refs which even hurts the cause to give him more volume as well.

DC has 5 TO's a game compared to AD's 2.2.

Jrue's past 10 games he's averaging nearly 52% fg and 24 ppg.

Moore and Miller are shooting a ridiculous 47 and 45% from 3 pt games yet we have cousins bombing 6.5 3's a game yet miller and moore combine for 8.2 3's a game. That's a 33% better efficiency handing Cousins' 3 pt attempts to Miller and Moore.

It is Cousins that we need to tone the shots down, keep feeding our shooters and give more touches to AD over DC on a consistent basis. Cousins needs to be a more efficient 20-23 ppg player for us.

I think we gotta reduce a few minutes of his playing time so he's fresher at the end of games and makes less mistakes. Nothing crazy that'd really piss him off. Just a bit longer break in the 3rd/4th.

i concur and i also would say a bit reduced offense role helps keeps him fresh late in game. it takes a lot of energy to dribble from the top of the key down to the rim only to get off balanced, throw up a poor shot or get blocked, flail your arms for 3 seconds and make the pouty face over and over again.

I love Cousins but we need to utilize better efficiency elsewhere on the team which in turn Cousins might get better looks and opportunities and make winning ball.

I don't think he needs to be leashed as much as he needs more rest. His efficiency takes a big hit in the 4th quarter.

1st quarter
6.7 pts
45.3% FG%
43.5% 3P%

2nd quarter
6.7 pts
55.1% FG%
38.2% 3P%

3rd quarter
6.5 pts
46.8% FG%
36.8% 3P%

4th quarter
6.7 pts
41.7% FG%
22.0% 3P%

I'm sure part of it is pressing in games where they're behind and the other team is defending with more effort, but he also looks gassed. Play him 32-33 instead of 36 and maybe we'll get less Bad Boogie at the end.

those first qtr numbers don't really help the give boogie more touches theory either. I think pels need to work their shooters in games early, may open up things better for our bigs as game progresses.

This is the biggest thing. He has no business playing 35+ minutes at our pace. His 4th quarter minutes and usage is his highest of the game when he is just as bad on defense, but his offensive efficiency nosedives. A lot of his offensive downturn in the 4th seems to be due to his 3pt% in the 4th is terrible (hitting 22%) because he is gassed.

I think we need to cut 2 minutes from the 3rd and at least 3 minutes from the 4th. Not sure if that would cause a problem or not.

THIS!

When AD comes back healthy and with Asik, Cousins needs to be at 32min a game. For his own good.

Every game there is generally a time in the first and second half where it is clearly visible that Cousins is tired and needs a rest. I would suspect a large portion of turnovers, ill advised shots, and not getting back on defense happens in these 2-3 minutes each half.
I don't understand why they don't take him out immediately when it is clear to see he is tired and needs a break.

He definitely looks gassed late. In his defense, I do think he plays hard.

First, you’d need a coach worth a crap.

You will get a lot of shite for this thread, but I agree with you.

Rest is a factor, but the major issue is the inefficiency of the offense, particularly when he is running "point boogie."

3.3 less shots. Incredibly more efficient.
