TO's and poor defense. We made it easy for them. Gallinari dominated

I’m still waiting for one of you pumpers to make a convincing case that doesn’t rely on dick sucking emotion for why we should be committing to Jrue through his 35th birthday and not trade him at his peak value this offseason.
Maybe you can be the one to get his dick out your mouth and make the case? Explain how the third worst high usage player in the fourth quarter in the league should get paid top dollar when he is a decade older than our franchise cornerstone?

Jrue is our highest paid player and supposed to be top 25, 14 points on 13 shots is not an acceptable performance while their guards also go for around 50%
I'm not saying it was an astounding game or even a good game from Jrue. He ONE bad turnover late in the game and shot poorly from the free throw line. 6-13 isnt good but many stars in this league have games where they shoot 5-21 (Harden, Tatum, etc). I just don't like how people who don't know anything about basketball say he's worth nothing and we should "get rid of him"
Also, the opposing guard's FG% can not be attributed to Jrue and you should know that. If you watched the game, you should be able to tell him and Lonzo mostly played well on defense, but their guards rely on switches to score. People just picked Jrue sometime last year to mark as the scapegoat for every loss we ever have, and people think he should not play bad ever, which is insane
ETA: I'm also not hell bent on keeping Jrue past this current contract, but he did not have to be traded at the deadline and obviously still helps this team more than he harms it

New Pels fan here, NBA fan really. Just wanted to say high

I only watched the second half, and it wasn’t great but wasn’t terrible. What I did come away with was that Schroder looks like a soundcloud mumble rapper.

35?? Lol. Did they already say we’re resigning him in 2 years?

Maybe you should have thicker skin

Turnovers were the difference tonight. That has to improve going forward.
Also, why we didn’t make an adjustment on Gallo setting the ball screen is very frustrating. If turnovers were the primary reason for the loss, our inability to adjust to that single play in crunch time was the second reason.

And no one should say that we didn't get the ball to Zion in the crunch time. He was 11-16 before his next 5 meaningful touches ended in 3 missed shots, a turnover, and a faceup where he didnt attack Gallinari. We tried to get him the ball this time

I watch basketball and Jrue is fricking putrid in fourth quarters.
Shooting 38% and 28% from three, 69% at the line and a TS% of just 46%. Which puts him right above RJ Barret and Tauren Prince as the third worst high usage offensive player in the league in the fourth quarter. He can play defense but when he dominates the ball and plays that bad offensively, the net return is frustrating.
You all keep saying this shite about how it is everyone else that cant watch basketball and that really Jrue is fine, but every way you slice it he has been detrimental and downright terrible this season in the most critical time he needs to be earning his salary, which is fourth quarters.

I've always said this as my biggest problem with him, I agree. Offensively, his game drops in the 4th quarter. I dont quite understand it, and i wouldnt be against not having him in the ending lineup
That doesnt change the fact that he absolutely helps us the first 40 minutes of the game and is one of the best two way guards in the league during that time
I wouldnt substitute Jrue for a lesser player that plays slightly better in 4th quarters

We desperately needed BI tonight for his length.
He plays we win this game

His offense isn’t that great the other quarters either. He is down to around 52% TS percentage, the lowest since his 2013 season. The first year here when he played with an undisclosed injury. His VORP is the third lowest of his career, his offensive box plus/minus the lowest since coming to New Orleans. Across a lot of advanced offensive metrics he just looks as poor as he has ever looked here.
I hope he can turn it around post allstar break because unless we have perfect health, he is going to need to demonstrate he can step up at will and be the second and even first scorer on some nights or teams like Memphis and Portland are going to capitalize.

Lost bc of late TOs, it’s that simple
The prayer three at the end of the half and the last 4 minutes of the third quarter lost this game. The Pels did well to work their way back into the game but if they close out the 3rd better, they go on the run in the 4th and take the Win.

His defense matters, though. A lot. And ability to pass. And intangibles. There's more to it than true shooting %, which also takes into account free throws which he struggles with. I'm not going to see if he isn't overpaid slightly, and I'm not saying we should give him a massive contract in 2 years, but he helps the team this year and is obviously an above average player
I'll also add that none of these conversations happen after his good games. We also scored more than our season average in points per game, offensive and shot-making was not the reason we lost this game, Jrue scoring 14 did not signficantly decrease our offensive output, especially considering he made up for at least 25 points off assists
