Zion, obviously
BI can get hot and take over games like a superstar
Lonzo is turning into the player that had all that hype 3 years ago and now has a shooting stroke
Jrue is Dame's dad
We are stacked, only a truly awful coach can screw this up. My fear is that we have that in Gentry. I have no confidence in this team to not screw up easy fundamental things that good teams do. End of game scenarios is like being the Plinko chip on the price is right. We just sit, watch and hope it goes into the right slot. I don't want to waste this like we wasted CP3 and AD.
Does anyone really see Gentry leading this team to a title. I don't and I can't even picture how it would happen. We don't play smart enough basketball to win big games. Don't waste Zion's early 20's

Nope.

I would like to keep Vinson on staff though.

I honestly can't think of anyone who has thought this over the course of his entire tenure. Maybe a couple of people in the summer we hired him. Maybe.

I remember it being a hella underwhelming hire then. I think we all were hoping to get a young Brad Stevens-type.

On paper this team is light year better than the grizzlies. It’s pathetic how bad our record is

It feels like Mark Jackson with the warriors. Get a new coach and boom dynasty!

Could never wrap my head around the hire, at the time it was a crucial one in retaining AD and you bet it all on fricking Alvin Gentry and his resume. I somewhat blame Warriors fever but mostly demps being a dumb frick

He'd never admit to this but I really don't think Griffin thinks Gentry is the long term answer either. At least I hope he realizes that because if he doesn't we are in for a load of disappointment

I get the exact opposite vibe. Everything Griffin has said and done has been very supportive of Gentry.

I died a little inside when Griff basically exonerated Al during the 13 game losing streak. I legit think Griff may keep Gentry on even if we barely miss the playoffs.

"Alvin did a great job leading this team to where he did despite not having Zion for 3 months."

I mean, FO's will talk about how they are fully committed to a head coach and then shitcan their arse less than 24 hours later.

Sure, but they usually aren't as vocally supportive/defensive of an embattled head coach as Griff has been.

Yeah I don't think anyone has ever said Alvin is the guy who'll be the long term solution for this team. Outside of the teams inconsistent, and at times downright bad, play he's also in his mid sixties.

I'd expect a new head coach in the next year or so. Wouldn't surprise me if there was a shake up this summer. I do like elements of the staff though and hope some of the assistants can be retained.

they seem to really want Al to succeed because they like him. I’d hope he’d step aside, but I’m sure he also sees zion as his ticket to save his shite legacy as a terrible HC
