And I think Murray would still be on the team. The Kings trade only happened because the owner was infatuated with Buddy., I’m not sure they were even high on Murray.

They were even higher on moving Cousins before having to pay him. We showed the most interest. There were frick all suitors willing to take on Cousins, y'all are looking at it backwards.

They would have gladly taken Murray

there was not one person on this board calling for herro to be drafted at #8

the suns are the ones who should feel foolish taking cam johnson at 11 instead of herro

Cam Johnson took 4.8 3's a game this year. Hit 39% of them, as a rookie. He averaged 15ppg in the bubble, and was praised on how he came back after the break.
Pretty sure Phoenix doesn't feel foolish. They feel excited about how they will use Cam Johnson more next year.

Would Herro be Herro if he had come to the Pelicans?

ok, doesn't change the fact that herro is better at everything cam johnson does well at 4 years younger and is the better overall player

I didn't say Cam Johnson was better, or that i'd rather him over Herro.

Just stating that Phoenix is happy with their pick.

Yes.

Now back to our love affair with Tyler Herro and the massive sample size we have to evaluate him.

If you had the nugs mgmt calling the shots you would have Jamal Anthony Davis and jokic.

29 other teams could have had Jokic. Let's not act like he was some surefire superstar. That Nuggets pick was complete and pure blind luck. I mean hell in 2016 we traded away the pick that turned into Malcolm Brogdon.

You can play the what-if game for 2nd round picks until you're blue in the face. Point is, there are 30 2nd round picks every year, since 2010 4 of them have made an all star team. 10 years, 300 picks, 4 all stars.

The Nuggets just so happened to get lucky enough to draft one of those 4.

Jamal Murray drafted one pick after the Pelicans selected Buddy Hield. Jamal Murray is the age now that Buddy Hield was when the Pelicans drafted him.

His actual age? Because Buddy admitted to being a year older this season. He’ll be 28 or so next season.

Yeah the nuggets got lucky with all 4 of there players and are lucky in be in conference finals... Get out of here with that. They picked them when everyone else had the chance.

Did the warriors get lucky picking Stef, Klay and Draymond so late in the draft?? It's called good management and player development.. I know thats something the pelicans have never really had so it may be a foreign thought process. But the point of the OP was that ya'll could have had the nuggets mgmt but let them walk. If ya'll had the nuggets mgmt why would their moves have been any different???

You aren't going to want to pay what Grant is going to command this year... It will be a bad contract for any that doesn't play in the finals

I mean he hasn't really been able to play defense yet... The Heat are just so good defensively they can hide his liability and mask it... I don't think the Pelicans would have such an easy time doing this

I mentioned this earlier and got ignored. Just think of how they tried to develop NAW... if they had both their would be little time without a trade to develop them

Sounds like he’d fit right in on this team then....
