I'm confused? Having 13 players isn't the issue. The second we sign Boston we go back into the tax?

When you convert two way players they only account for $24,000 per game for the remainder of the season’s games.

Right now if we were to convert Boston that would be around $800,000. So we just need to sign first year players (think guys like Karlo and Reeves) to 10 day contracts until we get to a point where we can convert him and still stay under the tax, as they would only cost around $66k for 4 games compared to $107k for anyone else.

In other words if nothing else happens trade wise, expect to see a bunch of no name G-Leaguers get signed to 10 day contracts for a month or so, then we will be far enough under to convert Boston

Understood. This would be very stupid. Not financially, just being the only move.

I can see this as they've stopped playing Boston for this contingency. He's only allowed to play 9 more games as a two way player and they're saving him for whatever reason right now.

Pels sending out 1 of our 2 playable bigs and attaching an asset doesn’t make sense from a roster construction perspective . I understand we can let Karlo get minutes as we arent trying to win but if one of Messi / Karli go down you are in a bind . There is another move coming in which we will take on a big I bet

I have no problem with this. Theis doesn't belong in the NBA, 2nd rounders are worth nothing and this gets us under the tax, so it does give Griff some leverage in the BI talks. If Toronto or GS know we need to move BI, they are going to give us even more of a shite platter.

Now, I still completely expect Griff to frick it up because he always overvalues his own guys and never actually trades them at the deadline (see Ball and Jonas).

Not really. The season is over. Just go sign Joe shite the rag man to play center.

You’re thinking too deep. This is about being cheap and ducking below the tax, that’s it.

They'll also let JRE play the Nance role as a small-ball center off the bench. Can also dip into G-league if need be...

Good god, it feels like that time I lost money in the stock market trying to recuperate what I lost when I should've just dropped out sooner. Griff has to be gone this offseason. Dude does not know when to just Cashin on assets and gives away top dollar assets for a nickel on a dime.
