They also made 1.5 billion by restarting the season In the bubble. Every sports team is hurting and I can’t wait to see the NFL figures when they are released after the season.

Talks on salary cap and tax continue with NBA/NBPA. Had league and union followed the normal formula to determine this season's salary cap -- linking it to overall league revenue -- sources told ESPN that it would have fallen to around $90M -- down from about $109M in 2019-20.

No way they could have done that without the amnesty clause.

Sources: The NBA held a call this afternoon with team GMs & presidents to detail the plan for a 72-game season set to begin December 22 & end before the Olympics in July. The league intends to schedule games in a way that reduces travel by 25% with teams playing MLB style series.

They could have, just keep the LT threshold higher. You just wouldn't see alot of player movement except through trades. 1 year MLE deals would be at a premium

A lot of people feel the lack of travel played a big part in the Bubble play being so good. It will be interesting to see if they can keep these travel reducing moves even after COVID. Maybe if you play a team like the Warriors 4 straight times they'll get bored and give you one that you wouldn't have gotten in a spread out schedule.

They must not have watched the Pelicans play.

Stupid question, but how does the cap effect BI’s contract?

If he gets a Max, which he likely will, it's a percentage of the cap, BUT it, or rather the increases, are tied to the year he signed it. So 25% of $109 = $27.25 with an 8% increase per year of $2.18 million.
If the cap had risen to $115 as projected the numbers would have been $28.75 with $2.3 million per year raises.

His contract will be 25% of the cap with 8% raises every year

Just imagine when the NFL numbers come out at the end of the season!
