If he continues to have a solid preseason and start to the regular season, do we trade Gordon to get help at other positions?

I think we're stuck with Gordon for the time being. If he's healthy we won't want to trade him and if he's hurt no one will want him.

D. Wade is not a great outside shooter either. Rivers just needs to keep attacking and getting to the rim. I think he could be special.

rivers needs to get that FT% up to 80 at the absolute min

Absolutely agree. His whole game is that he cuts to the basket and penetrates the lane, and does so with intent to either get fouled or get to the basket.

He's going to get fouled A LOT. If he's shooting 70% or worse, thats kind of worthless.

When he is healthy would be the perfect time to trade him....Maybe just me, but I dont think he will ever play to his greatest ability for the Hornets....

I can assure you that he's all about winning and will play hard no matter what team he is on. We more than likely won't get equal value if we try to trade him, so we shouldn't do so unless he pulls a CP and tries to force his way out or another team offers us a great deal.

So Rivers can be like Wade, but Gordon isn't anything special?

As a Duke fan I got to watch every game last year, so I was pumped when we drafted him. I love the fact that he attacks the basket at will. He wasn't great from the FT line last year, but I think he can get better. Gonna be exciting to watch.

I loved this pick, i've seen him play a few times in HS and then again in person when Duke played @FSU. He has such great quickness/handles to get to the rim that will serve him well in the NBA.

Deep range, can make all the shots but just needs consistency(I love his demeanor, isn't afraid to take a shot if needed). I think he can play the PG spot from a scoring/defense perspective, I guess the only question is if he has the vision(I give him the benefit of the doubt at Duke that he didn't have too much surrounding talent)

How we got doped into trading for this guy I will never know.

But seriously if you are going to be a retard go post on the rant. It's the preseason and he isn't playing any worse than Vasquez or any other guard at this point.

The kid is what, few games into preseason of his first year already? Aminu was drafted 8th in his draft and he's had a ton of leeway and JUST starting to show somewhat of a promise. I think everyone needs to just lay off of Rivers and let him evolve a bit. I wasn't expecting MJ or DWade right away or even ever, not sure what some of ya'll thought he'd be.

Another thing to take into consideration, he's doing a lot more in a position he's not comfortable in (at least that's what I see from him in the little I've seen him play)

He's learning to attack the basket in the NBA. It's going to take some time for him to adjust. He doesn't have the elite Athleticism or hops/Strength ala Rose/Westbrook to finish.

His game right now is pretty much 3point shot or drive to the basket. He needs to develop a mid-range shot and find creative ways to finish. He has a floater, I wish he'd use it more often.

FYI: Russell Westbrook was pretty terrible his first year too. I think Rivers will take a similar route.
