for the most part if he wasn't being fed the ball under the goal or grabbing a rebound for a jam, he had a hard time scoring.

This is not accurate. He was often initiating his offense from around the elbow. Frankly, LSU's offense was so haphazard last year, that I find it hard to judge Tari's offensive acumen.

LSU had below average spacing and questionable offensive guard play. Tari was their best shot creator and offensive initiator as a 6’7” wing. You’d think this would lead to inefficiency. Nah. He was incredibly efficient. 8th in the country in O Rating among guys who had 28% of shots or more. 31st among guys who had 24% of shots. Higher than Ivey, Banchero, Jabari. Obviously those guys are better prospects, but just giving some context.

Yes, he sucks at going left. But his right handed drives are damn good. his ability to get his own shot is better than a lot of the big wings/forwards in this draft. Add in the potential to be a plus defender at multiple positions, and I think he’s a lottery talent.

exactly they are saying that he's stupid

Definitely not the opinion I got from hearing his interviews. Seemed like a well spoken, intelligent player. I also never got the low basketball IQ feel from him. He did make dumb fouls, but they were almost always frustration fouls (upset he missed an easy shot or turned it over, etc.). I would think that would be something that could be fixed.

Anyone with this opinion either did not watch him play or knows nothing about basketball. Eason scored almost entirely based on him creating his own offense.

Frustration and trying too hard. Knowing when to reach for a steal and when not to is part of learning basketball. Not uncommon for a 2nd year college player. Something he’ll have to work on, but hardly disqualifying imo.

learning basketball

We probably are spoiled by hitting on all 3 rookies last year, but after seeing Herb, Trey and Jose, give me guys that already know how to play but need to add skills over guys that have some skills or physical gifts but need to "learn basketball".

they already have one of those. It’s going about how you’d expect

Fouling out of frustration is hardly an indication that you don’t “know” basketball or need to “learn” basketball.

Kind of off topic, but not really, it's why I dislike the label that one guy gets nearly every draft season, the raw but super long, super athletic, and super skilled Euro prospect with a limitless ceiling prospect that goes in the mid to late lottery. This year it's Dieng, 2020 it was Poku, 2019 it was Sekou, 2017 it was Ntilikina, and so on and so forth.

There's one of those guys that's actually worked out, and it's Giannis. Aside from him those guys NEVER hit. Maybe Dieng is the next Giannis, but maybe he's next in the long line of these prospects.

Dude, why do you think Trey was in and out of the rotation early in the year, and rarely played as many minutes as we thought he should? There was a learning curve with him. He wasn’t sure where he was supposed to be on offense and defense and made mistakes on both ends. That’s pretty normal for a rookie.

We can’t draft Jose and Herb clones every year. I love those guys and what they bring to the team, but relying on only 4 year college players is not sustainable. You have to draft some guys who have to learn and improve- especially as a small market team that will probably need to develop and cultivate frontline talent.
