Man I liked Nnaji in the draft and he's showing out. He's really raw but the physical tools are exceptional.
I'm surprised he fell to the 2nd, I would've taken him in the 20s

I mean hes really raw. I like him but only if he stayed overseas to develop.

Not gonna lie I really wanted James Bouknight the year he came out
he hasn’t shown much with Charlotte though.

I think he can come in right now and give you 10 minutes of rim running, rebounding, and rim protection. Like a Bismack Biyombo

Yeah hes trash but he had lot off court garbage too. He never matured.

Hawkins just can’t hit at all this summer league
Posted on 7/13/23 at 7:28 pm to Balsamic_duck
I disagree with you on that. I think Biyombo right now would give you much better minutes although Nnaji has more potential.

Its not the shooting that worries me. The fact he looks almost unplayable when his shot is not falling is very troublesome.

Yeah probably. Charlotte has a lot of centers. Mark williams, Nick Richards, and now Nnaji. I would mind trading for richards at the deadline, he's a solid depth big

This was always the worry with Hawkins unfortunately. If his shot isn’t falling, what else does he give you? At least he’s constantly moving. So defenders will get tired chasing him.
Edit: Not worried about his shot though. The dude is a sharpshooter. He’ll be alright.

Man hawkins can't touch the ball without fumbling it

Yet the Hawkins apologists will tell you hes just frustrated lol
To be fair plenty of players have had bad summer leagues and been fine. Lets hope this is the case with him as well.

Agree completely with you here. Lets hope this forces him to develop other areas of his game.

It's the second game in a row where he's been the worst player on a G league court. He seems like a very mentally weak player.

Seabron in the open floor is fun to watch

Nnaji is one of those guys whose name just keeps coming up during the game. He’s all over.

Daniels and Liddell have gotten better every game. They’re looking like legit NBA rotation players
Not to throw cold water on this, but the competition has also gotten worse each game. Very few guys that will get any minutes are playing this long into summer league.
Dyson will hopefully give us minutes this year, but if he can’t shoot he’ll be hard pressed to get 10 minutes a game. Liddell isn’t playing other than garbage time or injury catastrophe.

Dyson averaged just under 18 minutes a game last year. He’s already the second best defender on the team(Herb is 1st) and he might just pass Herb in that category. He’ll get at least 10 minutes.

I have to disagree here. I think pelicans are banking on internal development from these two guys to help their rotation. Both will be helpful rotation pieces in the regular season. You don’t sign your second round pick to a contract like that unless you feel like he can contribute.
