I think that this is right. Maybe stars get lower minutes in the last two games of this thing, but these players are going to have to play every other day in the playoffs, so they might as well get their bodies in that rhythm.

Even if we win today, if Portland also beats Denver, then the Blazers are up 2 games on us with 4 games to play, and it would be very unlikely that we catch them. If they win today, then they are likely the #8 seed. For us to have a decent shot at the #8 seed, we need to win today and Portland needs to lose.

I think best case scenario as we stand is Portland 8 seed and Pels 9

Best case or most likely case?
Don’t want anything to do with having to beat the Blazers twice.

Pels beat Kings
Nuggets beat Blazers
Thunder beat Grizzlies
Pels beat Wizards
then we have
MEM 32-38
NOP 31-38
POR 31-39
Spurs doesn't matter, Pels play them Sunday on ABC, It's real. it's real just gotta go 2-0 and get some help today and tomorrow.

Ok so if we win next two and Portland loses next two we will be even in wins . We will be up 2 games up in loss column . Asking are we above them or still below them in standings?

Best case. I don't see the Pels making it any other scenario

Nothing matters except us winning.
If we win out, we are going to be in, IMO.
If we don't win out, we will not be.
Just win.

Would only need to win one play in game if we get 8th. I don’t trust this team needing to win multiple games in a row

Pelicans win next 2, Portland loses the game tonight, then We are ahead of Portland. 31-38 vs 31-39 Portland would be .5 behind Pelicans

My understanding is we have to have 1 extra win than Portland, but I could be wrong.
Posted on 8/6/20 at 11:47 am to Fun Bunch
That’s right. In order to finish above Portland we need to have 2 more wins than them the remainder of the season.
If we go 4-1 we need them to go 2-3 to pass them. If we go 5-0 and they go 4-1 they will be ahead of us in the standings
ETA I’m thinking Portland goes 3-2 in their remaining games so we’d need to go 5-0 to finish ahead of them in that case. I’m still having trouble writing off the Spurs and Grizzlies. It’s gonna be a tight race.

that's why we need Blazers to lose tonight, and Pelicans to win today then it becomes a lot simpler.

Pack it up boys, we'll try again next season.

Yeah we'd need to go 4-0 just to have an outside shot at this point and we cant even beat the Kings on 3 days rest
Posted on 8/6/20 at 3:23 pm to Who_Dat_Tiger
Yeah pack this one in. We are done.

3-1 minor miracle
2-2 most likely
1-3 as likely as 3-1
