quote:Are you basing the trade on just Morant? I am not a huge fan of Bazemore as a staple in a trade even though he would be expiring. If we were trading with Atlanta, I would want Collins in the deal but realize Atlanta probably needs more than Young to convince AD to stick around.
I like Atlanta if they get #2
Ja Morant and Bazemore come here along with a future pick
Prince and #9 go somewhere for the young veteran guy who Griffin said he wants. Hill goes to Atlanta too.

In every trade I would want more. But yes, you'd have to leave them with enough to feel confident they could feel confident.
My gut is that this will come down to quality vs quantity. Personally, I don't like any single Boston piece that much, but yes, the quantity could be impressive.
I would be calling around the league every second of every day to see who likes what pieces over there, and if I can flip stuff for pieces I like, I take the Boston deal. But if not, I would probably take the best single piece (per my judgement) over the quantity

If the Knicks place top 2 in the draft, I prefer their package over the Celtics. Tatum is their premier asset, their Memphis pick is protected 1-6, and Brown needs to be re-signed. Zion or Morant are better assets and have more years on their contracts. Knox, Ntilikina, and Robinson are nice adds. The Knicks also have future Mavs picks.

I think every person on here would prefer a package around the #2 pick

If the Lakers somehow get the number 2 pick in the lottery and send us that second pick, Ingram, kuzma, ball and Hart I would rather that over the Celtics deal..get the sun's involved to make it a three way trade and send them ball for TJ warren and then resign randle
Ja, jrue, Warren and kuzma starting(don't know who they could get to play center in free agency) and Ingram, Hart and randle coming off the bench with the second team
I think kuzma will be better than tatum

Just to be clear, is there a single person here that wouldn’t prefer a package around Morant over Tatum?

Knox taking a dribble in and shooting a deep arse 2 a la Tatum is gonna drive me bonkers if we get him.

Even if the pick is third and you couldn't get Morant I would rather the Lakers deal..Tatum is way overrated

Have you watched them play this season. Tatum may be a little better defensively but hes not nearly as aggressive on offense.

He will never be traded to the lakers

Totally agree with you I was just saying a Lakers deal could be better depending on what pick they get. I like kuzma and Ingram more than brown and Tatum

Knox was absolutely atrocious this year.

Kuzma would never stay long term plus has an injury risk and i would take brown any day
Who knows what will happen with Ingram
Who knows what will happen with Ingram

Oh no he was for sure horrible, but was a raw rookie on a bad team. But even still I see him on a career trajectory very similar to Aminu. Almost the same exact size both 6’9 215-220 lbs and about the same shooting ability. The only thing that I see much difference in so far is Knox’s aggressiveness. He’s more willing to put the ball up. So I look at him at best a higher volume shooter version of Aminu, basically an average role player. So while I wouldn’t hate getting him. He shouldn’t be looked at as any sort of Davis centerpiece. I like Dennis smiths, and Robinsons upside much more than Knox. Obviously the prize is Zion then just hoping the rest could become useful role players.

I prefer Tatum and brown over any current knick player by a mile bc I can see both of them at the least being high end role players with a small chance of stardom. Which I still see brown with more upside untapped. But if you take the knicks pieces and add in Zion, a potential superstar with a very unique in skill set, then yea you take the Potential megastar and a bunch of possible low end role players. Why wouldn’t you take that chance over 2 to 3 known and somewhat established players from Boston arguably without true star potential.

Which that’s what I’d expect except you can swap out Knox or frank and give me Robinson instead. I’d want robinson and Zion no doubt. Keep Knox or frank if you want but those two are they guys I’d want no matter what.
