Shannon said Zion is out of shape and that is the reason for the clause and he should just accept it.

Weighing weekly is a ridiculous thing to be keeping him off the court. If Zion and his camp are gonna be stubborn, immature children about it, he’ll never get in shape because he resents how they measure it. Or that they measure it at all.
The media is DYING to talk about anything Zion. As evidenced by today. Maybe the play by the Pelicans should be to let him get as fat as he wants, never weigh him, take his BMI, whatever. Let him go out and huff and puff and only play 5 minutes at a time and get blown by on the defensive end worse than he already does. Then the narrative becomes solely about Zion and his unwillingness to get in and stay in shape. Remove the Pels from the equation. Maybe he’ll wind up finally getting embarrassed enough to where the light will click on, and he’ll do it himself. No matter what parameters the organization puts on him, he’s not going to do it until he actually decides he wants to.
But I don’t think the issue is him being “fat.” Even if he cut down to bodybuilder, 5% body fat, he’s still gonna weigh too much. He needs to lose muscle, too. Completely transform his body. Put down the weights and start doing long-distance cardio. He’s just got too much natural torque and explosiveness to handle that much weight, period, whether it’s muscle or fat. He’s a walking pulled hamstring. Even when he’s 100%, it’s just a matter of time. I don’t know where the sweet spot is—there’s really no comp for him. But this ain’t it.

Right. What Skip is saying makes no sense whatsoever.
Skip is a blow hard. But he is spot on here. Guaranteed.

that's what is happening right now.
No one is bashing the Pelicans for this in the media. They are bashing Zion.

Only the most casual of fans that love being negative think this.

I mean is Zion's stepfather his agent or manager or what?? I'm asking because I really don't know. But see this whole relatives involving themselves in these player's business affairs just never sat well with me. Smh I didn't like it with Kawhi Leonard in San Antone, and it's still going on with him in LA. Smha But these relatives have NO PLACE in these players affairs with the team, yes, they can give them their personal advice like they are going to do anyways, but as for as them making demands and all of this crap, NO, they have no place. If Zion agreed to this, signed off on it, then stick to the agreement. I don't wanna hear about your Uncle sister's cousin or whomever is talking this stuff to you because you signed off on it, and their 2 cents, frankly, doesn't matter to put it nicely. Unreal!
Zion Williamson imo is an immature, young kid who's stepfather it seems has taken over his life pretty much and tells him what to do because he's still a child mentally even though he is 22. If his stepfather thought with any proper sense and not display the idiotic sense that he's displaying right now in fighting with the Pelicans FO, he would tell his stepson to get in shape and to take this seriously. This is your livelihood young man, your career that we're talking about and as such you need to display the commitment and integrity towards it that it deserves. That means to get your fat arse in tremendous basketball shape, and show that you're committed towards making this your life!
You should weigh in between anywhere from 250 to 260 pounds I think. Tipping the scales at 250 or 255 I think will make him light enough to keep these types of injuries from happening, but still strong enough to display the power, strength, and great athleticism that he is known for. But it's up to him to finally get it in his childish damn head that this is his life, his career and business, and stop fricking around with the immaturity that he's displayed and treat it as such, "finally". In other words grow the hell up is what his got damn stepfather should be advising, telling him, and not all of that other foolishness. Smdh

Am I missing something here… it’s a contract. The clause would have been inserted, scrutinised and signed by Zion
This wouldn’t have come as a surprise…everyone signed up to the conditions of the contract… so nothjng to be unhappy about. Don’t sign it if you’re not happy

How many 6'6 guys in the league weigh 250+?

Well He's 30 pounds over what he should be so
Is this a fact? He does seem awful big...but why would he not be in better shape since he was supposed to be rehabbing? I guess he's got used to being on his arse just watching the game instead of participating.
Let him play immediately next season and hope he puts up good numbers for the first few weeks, then trade his arse!
He ain't worth the wait.
