Correct, but as I’ve said a bunch and what you seem to be missing is there’s far more to the trade than swapping Ingram for Scoot.
My proposal gives you another young cost controlled player along with the cap space under the tax to grab another player like Collins.
Scoot, Sharpe, Collins >>>>> Ingram
Plus to add there’s always the possibility that Scoot is greater than anyone expects and becomes the best player out of this draft, he certainly has the skill sets and mentality to do that.
To sum it up, the point is AT WORST we are still a play in team like we currently are, but we save a shitload of money and create the abilty to further upgrade the roster.

I also don't think trading away a known all-star talent like Zion or BI for a rookie is a very good idea. There were articles calling Ben Simmons the next Lebron James, how'd that work out

Nobody believes that Scoot is gonna suck arse. NO ONE.

Unfortunately, I think it signals that we won't cross that tax line with these guys. Especially when we haven't had the type of success for them to actually consider it.

No draft pick is, Wemby is not a guarantee, but you would trade Ingram for him in a heartbeat.

Nets said Durant would not be traded. How’d that work out?

He’s a 20ppg scorer that can play some defense, shoots 40% from 3 and can play the 3-5 spot. He’s definitely not overpaid significantly for what he brings, slightly maybe, and he’s exactly the type of player everyone has been begging to have to play the 5 to close games with Zion.

For example, boogie wasn’t getting traded by the kings according to the team and then a week later they trade him to us. I mean it could very well be true. But a statement like that is not concrete. Especially for a desperate team like Portland who as of now seems clearly all in on helping dame

Bruh Ingram averaged 28/6/6 the last three months of the season. Why would you want to trade the player he has become?

And what did that get us?
Oh right, missing the playoffs.
Zion averaged 26/7/4.6 with the same exact team and had that team as the first in the west. Stats don’t tell all.

Are you forgetting that both Zion and Ingram missed that terrible stretch? Who got us to the fricking playoffs and took Phoenix to 6 games while the other was bagging cheetos and banging porn stars?

quote:What John Collins are you referring to? You seem to be referring to one half of a season 4 years ago. He does not play much defense. He has shown he is not that player on a consistent basis. He also does not want to play the 5 (which is where he had his better offensive and rebounding stats). He put up 13 and 6.5 last year shooting 29% from 3 in a full season. He also makes nearly $80 million guaranteed over the next 3 seasons. Pass

I seriously don't understand the thought process behind wanting to trade either guy, but if you want to trade one of them, you don't choose the guy whose played a season and a half in 4 years?

Ingram came back and the team was still sliding and losing games.

The CJ trade had just as much to do with this as Ingram, maybe even more-so. We actually have a winning record with CJ playing (44-38), and yes that’s with Ingram and Zion missing as many games as they have and CJ playing all season injured.
