Kobe demanded a trade.

Steph and Klay were only discussed because Chris Paul became available. (Yes, those were the rumors at the time, damnit)

Feel fairly certain the Spurs weren’t threatening Tim Duncan in order for him to play better.

But yes, guys maybe in trade rumors that played well.

Just watched his highlights.

Good god if we somehow get Scoot and pair him with a HEALTHY Zion, watch out.

I would take this in a heartbeat:

Scoot
CJ
Trey
ZION
Jonas

Bye Bye Ingram.

Lol first of all your assuming thats all we’re getting but ok. Under your assumption can Zion be traded for only the number 2 pick? Not exactly- salary needs to be involved. I assumed thats what you meant but I guess you dont know how basic NBA trades work. Examples: celtics got Allen and 35th pick for basically the 5th pick and filler salaries. By the way due to basic salary issues we have to take salary back in a trade- thats how trades work. You cant only trade a player for a draft pick it’s impossible-salary has to come back. So we would have to take Hayward back. Hornets also traded no. 13 pick for vlade- ended up being Kobe. If this trade happens it will also be after the fact likely. Meaning wouldn’t be surprised if trade goes through Scoot wears a blazers hat than pelicans- all hypothetical.

I’m gonna laugh when nobody gets traded and only off season move is replacing Garrett Temple with some random league min vet

Hey guys STOP THIS THREAD! He just stated hes fairly confident this wont happen. I bet he just called Griffin to make sure. Thanks for letting us know you’re fairly confident this wont happen- eases my concerns- I can now ignore what Shams and Woj report.

Scoot really is special. There’s no question in my mind. Absolutely worthy of considering any possibility here.

I'm well aware of how trades work, but getting Gordan Hayward and the #2 pick is essentially us getting the #2 pick for Zion in my view. He's only got a few years left in the league. That's also among the better mock trades ive seen online and was from a pelicans fanpage.

I think a lot of this debate could be due to the fact that we still overvalue Zion Williamson

I mean sure but the last guy on your bench shouldn’t be someone you’re even depending on

If you explore any hornets fan pages, beat writers or twitterverse, you will see a lot of trades proposals that would make all of us blow a gasket and want to fire David Griffin

I mean when you say we- who’s we? The pelicans or the fan base? I think the fan base for sure. Im not sure how this organization feels honestly it values him the same as thus fanbase but I could be wrong.

I was basically joking considering Temple has gotten millions for doing nothing.

I mean the fans and organization view Zion more highly than those who have not been around him and have only seen him play sparingly.

LINK

Article from a Blazers beat writer saying he doesn't want Zion because he's hurt too often and would rather BI

LINK

Another Blazers Article saying the same thing

quote:

What y’all think? Would y’all do this? I’m torn on what I’d do but I’d at the very least listen

Pelicans get: Pick 2

Hornets get: Zion / Pick 14 / Herb

*and before people say I’m asking for a lot for the hornets keep in mind we literally have all the leverage

Hornets fan on twitter posted this with 500 votes and it's essentially 50/50 with the majority of fans in the comments saying they don't want Zion becuse he doesn't play

Mac was saying same thing (again grain of salt) that blazers and hornets prefer BI. Which according him is sticking point because pels prefer trading Zion. I kind of don’t blame other teams and theit fans, its hard to trust a guy who cant handle his weight or stay healthy for the past 4 years.

I don't blame them either, nor am I saying I wouldn't trade Zion for the right price. I just know that Zion's value has never been lower than it is right now and usually when you trade a player at their lowest value, you don't get a very good deal. I wouldn't be so against this deal if all the proposals I've seen didn't make me want to yak in my mouth
