The Raptors are all in on this season, they aren't trading Green. I would imagine the goal is the 1 seed in the East and making the Finals and daring Kawhi to walk away from a team he just lead to the Finals.

Looking at Brooklyn now, they have just about zero salary for next years team, assuming Crabbe would opt out. Not sure if he'll do that or not. I know everyone thinks people will get paid next year, but as Crewz has been pointing out, those long term deals worth over $15M/yr just aren't happening too often for non big time players.
Outside of Joe Harris's $8M 2 year deal, they just have a few rookie deals on the books for next year.

I would think they would be open to trading Crabbe if they got something in return, meaning we could send them Solo/AJinca, and they still have tons of cap space for next year. Don't think i'd trade a first round pick for him unless Dinwiddie was included too, but if they don't think Crabbe would opt out, then that would save them $6M more, not that they really need more cap space.

To be honest, i don't think Dell wants to trade that 1st round pick yet until he knows he likely can't get a better deal for it. If you trade it now for Crabbe, then you don't have it to offer when someone like Butler or Barnes may become available mid way through the season.

I think if we can't get that big time player, which i know is a long shot, then getting someone like Crabbe or Fournier isn't a bad idea b/c i really don't think we'll get someone better in FA with our cap space.

I personally would like to find a way midway through the season to get Kemba, then get Fournier. If Orlando is going to give him away, give them Solo and Okafor or Diallo, and some 2nd's. That'll save them some money. Ajinca/Liggins/1st for Kemba.

Kemba
Jrue
Fournier
Niko
AD

That's a lineup that can score.

The team's identity that they like is built around defense. Niko is probably the 3rd best defender in that group. Although I guess technically it's a better scoring version of

Rondo
Jrue
Moore
Niko
AD

After watching Niko, he's a really good defender, and is exactly what we want from a big guy that plays with AD. Able to guard the bigger 5's in the league at times, and quick enough to stay with the stretch 4's and switch onto guards effectively enough in picks, all allowing AD to roam the paint. and i think Randle will give us the exact same thing on defense with an added caveat of a few blocks at the rim.

Fournier's defense isn't that bad. Orlando was a terrible defensive team. I'm sure you read the article about how terrible Payton was and how he affected how bad the teams defense was when he was on/off the court. Playing with AD roaming the paint makes perimeter defenders better instantly. His defensive rating isn't that far from Jrue's, not that i think he's anywhere near the defender Jrue is, just that Fournier isn't a bad defender, and him being a much better offensive threat offsets his defense a bit.
Kemba isn't a slouch on defense either, although he can't gaurd anyone outside of a PG or a SG that can't shoot b/c of his size.
