Anyone have a link to that guy's renderings?

He's deleted the photobucket but here's what I was able to pull out of the Google Image Search cache:

Those look really good. I can already hear Gil making up corny jokes/rhymes with the word 'Krewe' during games

How can anyone from NOLA not like that?

shite, I don't like Mardi Gras, try to go out of town for it and take a vacation or avoid it. But those are awesome.

And completely unique to our city. It would tell people, this is OUR team. OUR brand. You don't get it? Tough, frick off.

It's hard to tell as small as those Google thumbnails are, but in the original image I believe the trim down the side of the uniforms was music notes IIRC.

i like it but what's our identity? The fleur de lis or the krewe logo... just want an unmistakeable identifiable logo... i don't want the four logo thing floating around still.

I think you do like the Saints with the Fleur de Lis as the primary symbol. I have no problem with all the musical/jester/mardi gras stuff as accents like on the court though, and you probably replace Hugo the mascot with some sort of Jester.

Can we be the Krewe of Pelicans?

The more I see Krewe, the less I like it.

I prefer Brass or Marauders over Krewe.

How about that creepy king cake baby from the bike races at the games during carnival season for our mascot.

he had to go all in on the fleur de lis cause nothing else to hang the hat on with krewe. Adding musical instruments too... it's all over the place.

That baby is creepy as hell

I like Krewe. But as I said before, wouldn't be disappointed if we didnt rebrand. I just don't want anything stupid or cheesy. I like Krewe because I feel it is unique to our region.

But that actually works. I see your point, but do you think people would be more likely to embrace a Pelican logo or a "faceless" team name that uses the Fleur de Lis? Considering how LSU fans have recently adopted the Fleur de Lis, I think more people would like something centered around it. Sure you could shape a Pelican like a Fleur de Lis ala the Fleur de Bee, but I think the bottom line is the Fleur de Lis probably will be the primary symbol regardless of what the new name is.

I didn't like the sound or thought of Krewe at first but seeing those prototypes are pretty good actually.

Here are some ideas I dropped in another thread last night.

New Orleans: Flash, Honey Badgers, Voo Doo(if possible), Generals, River Raiders, Big Shots, Po-Boys, Piranha, Blues

Big Easy: Knights, Hurricanes, Big Shots, Piranha, Gators, Po-Boys

But the idea that I don't like krewe so it the only resort to that would be thugs is foolish.

This sentence makes no damned sense. The "Thugs" statement was in response to your need for an intimidating name, which is foolish. Are Celtics intimidating?

You have to give me a name that doesn't have 40 years worth of history behind it.
