If all of the Spurs 3's tonight were wide open (they weren't all wide open) and they made their average percentage, we would still be up 3 points. That's just how it's been for the pelicans this year. Defense sucks, but shooting luck is awful against us
We're also not even the unluckiest. We're 3rd most unlucky, but the 1 and 2 in terms of 3 pointers made against them only allow 33 per game when we allow 40 per game

I really don’t understand how they give up so many points. Outside of the big not coming out and challenging the ball handler enough on the pick and roll it didn’t seem that the half court defense was as bad as the score would indicate. I know they had once or twice they cheated too far away from a 3 pt shooter and got burned.

It’s not unlucky, our off-ball awareness is very bad, which is why we allow a shite ton of late shot clock 3’s.
We aren’t physical at the point of attack, guys drive, our guys ball watch, guy kicks out, our guys scramble and stumble to contest, guy shoots uncontested 3. It’s the same story every time.
