Cleveland supposedly isn't interested in giving him anything guaranteed. I have no problems with Demps kicking the tires, but the overwhelming evidence says that Oden being worth taking a chance on is just a pipe dream. This league is desperate for capable bigs, if the reward outweighed the risk, and the risk is pretty low, he'd be on a roster by now. Is he really holding out for a 2 year deal? That's the number I keep hearing. If he won't sign like a DLeaguer and prove his worth then he must not be too confident that he'll stay healthy.

I just see quite a bit of teams interested in him. No doubt he needs to prove himself, but you got to buy the lotto ticket to hit the jackpot. I just can't see us losing much by taking a risk on him... assuming that he would ever come here in the first place. We could slowly work him in to the rotation with limited minutes, and treat him the same way we treat eric gordons knees. So who knows unless you try.

And when a product isn't selling you put it on clearance. He does have until the start of the season to try and get the best deal, but if he has no takers by the preseason and he's still holding out for 2 years that says something negative about his ability to return.
