Brook Lopez and Luke Kornett just got similar money. They are both making under 10.5 million. At some point, this will be year 7, they have to stop making excuses and actually sign someone that could add something as a shooter.

Yeah yeah. And he also has to be tall. And he has to protect the rim. And he has to play great defense. And he has to rebound. And he has to do all this while Zion plays only 40% of the time.

Missi provides plenty of spacing with his rim running. Theres more than one way to get there.

How can you play Looney next to Zion? At least Joe is clearly signaling that Zion is no longer the centerpiece. That was Griffin's undoing.

We were probably lucky that Looney and Poole are tight

Poole is indeed hyped:

This is another good reason for the Looney acquisition. Poole is a bit of a cipher, and I'm happy that he'll have a friend on the team.

I think it makes more sense to have

Zion/ Looney/ Karlo
Missi/ Queen/ Dickerson (2-way)

Have Zion with Missi/ Queen lineups at center and Looney playing with the 2 rookies to help with boards, defense, etcc

What? He's a better fit with Zion than Missi is for sure. Looney will play quality positional defense, and his extraordinary defensive rebounding will free Zion to run the break.

That's ugly. Karlo is the only guy with anything resembling an outside shot. The spacing is going to be horrendous.

He has a range of 4 feet and is slow as molasses, so he isn't even a roll threat off Zion. Seriously, Steven Adams was a more meaningful acquisition.

If we get a serious Zion (and that's a big if) then he should show up with a shot this year. Atleast something effective enough to stop teams from easily packing the paint as their game scheme.

Everyone else on the team has a solid outside shot and I think Zion/ Queen's shooting abilities could be underrated. Definitely not trying to overrate those abilities but not expecting Herb/ Dyson type seasons.

Zion doesn't run much P&R, because he doesn't need a pick.

Seriously, how much did we run that with Jaxson Hayes, who excels at rolling to the basket (probably the only basketball skill that Jaxson excels at)?

You need to come up with something better than that to convince me of the poor fit.

I think we will be okay with shooting, Bey and Poole are better shooters than people are giving them credit for.

You ignored the whole 4 foot range and feet like concrete part. That makes him a good defensive rebounder, but terrible barrier to offense, particularly when you build your offense around a guy with a 6 foot range.

Herb immediately gets moved to the bench when Murray comes back...

Not this year. You're getting Murray at 75% best case scenario with heavily restricted minutes on a team that hopefully has chemistry with the starters by the time he comes back.

Yeah, Murray comes off the bench when he comes back. If we make the playoffs, then maybe we would think about it, but the important thing is to minimize the risk of reinjury. Murray is not a starter next season.
