“This isn’t a game to complain about Hawkins minutes- everyone played like shite today. Hawkins didn’t do anything great.”
It was me responding to the complaint that Willie took him out after 5 4th quarter minutes in which he was starting to get hot. Why sub that guy out when no one else is scoring? That’s the basic coaching things I question with him. That’s what I was referring to.

I think we 100% could have used some momentum from 3, I’ll say that
The only way this game would have turned is if Zion and BI grew some balls and took the first half personally.

I agree with you there. My answer to you is Willie is a dumbass.

Do you honestly think the way this game was going if we played Hawkins he would have made a difference?
Yes. When you make shots you can set your defense. We could've kept it closer, which would've changed the tone of the game.
But yes keep one of your best 3pt shooters on the bench all of a very pivotal 3rd q. That makes sense to you?

Nothing Willie does makes sense to me. What concerns me more is how our 2 guys (Zion and BI) just dont show up for these games.

This is team desperately needs Zion to be an mvp candidate. It was the expectation

I honestly think this organization wanted BI to be that MVP candidate as bat shite crazy as that sounds.

Griff has a mega hard on for BI for whateve reason

I think this mindset became the case after they realized Zion is an immature child that can't figure out his diet.

Good point but expecting a guy who at best is a fringe all star to lead the team is stupid organizational thinking as well.

I agree, but I'm not sure they have a choice without making a trade.
There is a lot of blame to go around, but the fact of the matter is, we're just spinning our wheels and going nowhere until it clicks for Zion... and it's no longer a given that it will click.

The mistake would be overpaying BI as well. And if Zion is not the guy- then I agree move him. Lets see how they end the season but if Im Griff - I have some serious convos about what to do with Zion and BI.

You know whats funny sometimes I cant tell if you’re talking about Zion or BI. BI seemed like he had no force.
What’s really sad is I deleted a second part to the post which was “and our second best player brings nothing on defense.”

This team has a serious identity problem and they need to hand the keys to either BI or Zion and live with the results. Personally, I think it should be Zion since hes the more elite talent. Whoever they don’t give the keys to- they need to trade that player and live with the results. This Zion/BI pairing is just awkward and doesn’t work especially against top tier teams.

I'm basically ok with the Pels taking data this season. I think it will reveal flaws in the roster that we can already guess at, but if you want to give our "big 3" 50 games together before making the call, I can live with that.
Tonight was just an example of NBA being a make or miss league. Our starters went 5/26 from behind the arc (19%), their starters went 13/29 (45%). They know how they want to run their offense, everyone's roles, and do it fast and efficiently. We get put under some pressure and fall apart.
The new reality in the NBA will be two max contracts per team, so both the Suns and Pels will need to change things up soon. If the front office wants more data before deciding the way forward it's not the worst thing in the world to let this play out...
