Hes good but he also shoots 30% from 3, isn’t some crazy triple double machine and is OK at free throws. Imagine if we decided to build solely around JV. Wild takes indeed lol
He's a future legit all star

I agree hes a good player but I dont see future all time great or elite player in him. His youth helps him. I just think the way Houston uses him is extremely smart. But he has issues defensively and I don’t think he’ll ever be Jokic elite offensively.

Glad some are finally catching on about Sengun. He’s excellent. He’s durable. He’s a true face of the franchise on and off the floor.
Pels Yas: He’s better at age 18,19,20, and 21 than Jokic was at the same ages. So it’s not inconceivable that he can match JOKIC’S peak in 5-6 years. Even if he falls short, 85-90% of Jokic is still an amazing foundational player for a franchise to have. Far better than Ingram, Zion, etc.

I applaud Udoka for going all in on Sengun though. Imagine having higher picked players or proven guys such as Jalen Green, Jabari and Van Fleet and saying we’re playing through Sengun.
Now can you imagine Willie saying to BI, Zion or even CJ hey we’re going to start playing through our most efficient player Trey? Willie can’t at times bench defensive role players to start Trey. Just to be clear I’m not saying Trey should be the star of this team but it would be nice if we actually ran plays for him.

You may be right on Sengun. Time will tell. I just think Jokic is just so elite its hard to replicate. And if you can’t replicate his offense, then Sengun defense will be a bigger liability. But we’ll see.

There are 3 main differences between Sengun and Jokic currently.
1) Jokic is 2-3 inches taller and longer. Sengun added height this offseason and it definitely helped him make a jump, but he will probably never be as big as Jokic.
2) Jokic is definitely a better shooter and was as a younger player as well. Sengun’s percentages are not great this season, but he’s committed to shooting more 3’s and also the occasional Dirk Fadeaways. He has it there, it’s just not necessarily efficient yet.
3) Sengun is actually a much more explosive athlete than Jokic. This could potentially mitigate being smaller and not as good of a shooter.
Jokic is an all time Great. It’s probably going to be damn near impossible to match his peak.
However, I think Sengun is good enough and the Rockets have enough potential good players around him to be a serious problem for a very long time.
Imagine if Jalen Green and/or Jabari Smith ever play up to their potential. Even with them not quite doing that, the Rockets are already a pain in the arse with a developing Sengun, an aging Vanfleet, and Dillon Brooks as kind of their 3 best current players.

Both Zion and BI are not it. Both should be traded. Real stars win this game. Lebron is 40 and just lit up the 2 seed and has outplayed both BI and Zion this season. This supporting cast deserves better stars

I just hope that adjustments are made. Pels seems to not want to have hard conversations. They have plenty enough information as to what those adjustments are.

I tend to agree, although I’m a bit less frustrated with BI bc I think he is actually in shape and works on his game. He just has some deficiencies and can’t be a number 1 on a title team. He might be able to be a number 2, with the right number 1 beside him. I don’t think Zion is that guy stylistically or intangibly, unless he starts acting like he did at Duke in 2019.

If we do this, you’re basically asking for a rebuild. I doubt CJ wants to stay for that so you probably need to trade him too. Are you ready to go down that road?
