I think we also need to point out how AWFUL DeAndre Ayton was in that game. He is on a max contract and I don’t know if I have ever seen a player on a max contract be more lazy and directly contribute to losing than he did last night.
He went long stretches of not trying on defense. He missed a dunk and a layup in the stretch when the Pels took the lead. I don’t say any of that to disparage Theiss and Missi. I say it because I don’t want to ever read about him as a trade target for the Pels again.

He's making like $2mil a year, what exactly are your expectations for him?
To not be out starting center, or even our backup center. My expectations would be for him to sit on the bench as much as Zeller did last year, and Zeller is better than him.

No he did not.
He took terrible shots and his offense is so terrible it’s like we are playing 4 on 5. And his defense is barely good enough to play against backups.
There’s a reason he lost his BACKUP center role at his last two teams.
Theis sets really good screens, which actually does help our offense. Defensively, he's almost always in the right position.
As others have said, his two-game +/- right now of +29 leads the team. If we're winning his minutes, then he's doing some things to help the team, whether you see them or not.
On the other hand, I think that I'm ready for the JRE experiment to end. Willie has now given him a 5-minute stretch in each game, and it hasn't gone well. We are -10 in those minutes, even with JRE going 2-3 from 3 in Game 1. The team just doesn't look right with him out there. Hopefully, Zion can be off his minutes restriction now, and JRE will drop out of the rotation.

Bruh.....
Theis might not be prime Hakeem offensively but on defense he is so much better than what we had last year (Val). Poor Val was an orange traffic cone on PnR defense. It's not easy getting stuck on a PnR with CJ or Hawk as the primary defender.
