The announcer just asked if the Pelicans had one last run in them.

I'm sure that we do. The Pels need to make it close so that we can get our hopes up.

You can see the potential with him for sure. I would love to know the story of what's going on with what the coaching staff is doing with him and why.

He was driving and finding people, dishing and finding open shooters 2 or 2 from 3 in like 6 minutes, staying with his guy on Defense and then Gentry sits him. WTH

Keep Zion,BI,Ball,Hart,NAW,Hayes,Kenny,Didi and burn the rest down to hell.

We should be in full blown fire sale mode.

Make the starters stay out here, make them look stupid.

And the front office decided to give him $4mil a year instead of keeping Wood for basically free

I was summarily downvoted for this take, glad some people are coming around.

I think he would have been a lot better if they gave him a definitive role like Rivers did for SGA. He should have came into the season focused on heavily on defense and running the offense. That would have kept him from shot jacking.

Wood didn't want to be here. It was obvious from his whining tweet and the fact that his agent didn't want him to play in the summer league.

Can you blame him though? Dude played in more summer league games than anyone on a NBA roster. I’d be pissed too.

Another risk you take when your entire philosophy is predicated on dogmatically forcing players into a system that asks so much, so quickly, and with such little accountability/guidance to go with it.

Hey young guys, just run faster than the rest of the league for 48 minutes, move the ball like the 14’ Spurs, shoot threes like the Rockets/Warriors, defend with the intensity that Tom Thibodeau would demand of you, and do so as I act less like a coach and more like your favorite uncle....what could go wrong??

Because we chose Okafor/Melli over committing to him.

Which I said then, when you look at skillsets, Wood is a much better contrast to what Zion and modern NBA teams look for then either of them. I feel confident reiterating my position

I dont think many people are going to protest you there. Although preseason Melli wasn't bad on the eyes.

If the season hinged on deciding between Okafor, Melli, and Wood we were fricked from the jump.

I mean no one is saying that, but your back up bigs matter, and having ones that are more naturally synergistic and just outright better playing with your roster improves your overall output.

People tried to excuse choosing Okafor/Melli over Wood, by every metric we have they were wrong.

Hey Al, your team gave up 35 points and committed 8 turnovers in the first quarter. You said they were playing ok and they just needed to make shots.

Maybe your mentality is the issue here.
