Has nothing to do with want. If it was about want he'd be a pelican right now. Oh wait, it actually is about want. Its about what the kings want. This could go on until 11:59 PM on July 13 for all we know

So, after thinking on it for a little bit and reading more Kings forum posts, I feel more and more confident about a S&T. Kings have been looking for other FAs and were willing to tie up their cap in Iggy instead of Tyreke if Iggy were to commit to their team. I keep hearing that they thought Tyreke would be in the $8-9m range and were shocked by the offer, and not once have they flat out come out and said that they would match. Lopez and GV are nice assets to have on great contracts, plus they'll suck hard and get a high pick in one of the more hyped drafts in recent history. They have plenty of guards and don't have a huge need for one making $11m a year. They prefer to build around Cousins and can use cap space to fill positions of need around him like PF and SF. Considering there are a few suitors already for Lopez and Tyreke has agreed to our contract, if he isn't gone in a day or two then I think we can assume that a S&T is in the works.
Sorry for rambling on.

I'd assume he's talking about the event that Evans signs our offer and the Kings match it. If that happens, they can't trade him to us for one year. Same situation with us trading to Gordon to the Suns.
Yup.
And he makes perfect sense to me.
You guys are weird.

They could re-sign Tyreke and still be able to make room for another big FA.

Would only make about $3m less than Evans this year. It's not really enticing from a cap standpoint.

What makes the Pelicans different? They have two guards already making big money and slotted to start, another guy who had a solid season starting at pg, a top 10 pick from just a year ago and a different second year player who showed good potential last year.

It makes no sense for them to do that. This isn't like Gordon where the Suns were offering him the best possible contract they could. Hell, they could be feigning interest in other players just to make New Orleans think their offer is good enough to get Evans.

Man, I love how other team's fans are lurking this forum now.
You're scared bro. Admit it.

I still think it's very reasonable to see a sign and trade happen. I still say watch to see if we retain Lopez for longer than expected, because I'll automatically assume at that point he's getting worked into a sign and trade.
