Not watching it the game, but looking at Davis' numbers, it took a colossal meltdown/coaching frick up by Monty to finally take the reigns off Davis

That's pretty frustrating. Sometimes I feel like we'll never see some members of this team really come to their full potential with Monty calling the rotation shots the way he does

It's a shame it takes Monty almost a full season to get things that are totally obvious to even casual viewers...

Gordon doesn't even get the ball when he's wide open.

Again, I'm not watching, but Davis' numbers are further indication, almost more so than the Lakers game, that Monty is in over his head

down 14, 2 minutes left. no reason to leave him in and get him injured just for the off chance he gets 2 boards. he will have plenty of 20.20 nights in his career

Looked like AD bothered that shoulder a couple plays before the timeout. He was battling for a board and came out shaking that arm as he went back to the other end of the floor.

meh. By no means does this excuse some of the bizarre rotation choices he has made this year. Monty has some legitimate flaws and he needs to start showing more.

But being cautious over the course of the season with a 19 year old post player, who admitted before the season he wasn't in NBA shape and who has had some injury problems, isn't really one of them.

In my rough (mind you, rough) calculations I just did, Davis averages around 16/11 with over 2 blocks a game when he plays 30 minutes or more.

Those are borderline all-star numbers.

And yea, more minutes means more stats, but it does seem to point to the fact the guy has to be on the court more. You don't keep your 1 number overall, once in every 10 years, kind of player on the fricking bench. Period.

Yea, he's 19 and a twig, but shite he's always going to be pretty skinny. Might as well get used to it now.

Hey I agree. He needs to be playing in crunch time- he's the best player on the team.

But he's had some injuries and he definitely hit a rookie wall around the New Year. I can understand protecting him some during those stretches. If he's healthy and not getting 36+ with Smith now out, Monty is not doing his job.

I think we'd all like to see AD play more, but i think people might be surprised by how few bigs actually play 36 mpg.

His minutes are right in line with where other bigs his age have been

Tonight was also the perfect night to play Davis big minutes, when he's guarding a guy like Tayshaun Prince.
