Okay, I reached with “having a deal in place”
but it was easy to see that the plan was never to draft at 23.
(Maybe) They could have gotten better value for the pick with how things played out with the Pacers.
From the Pelicans perspective, there was a clear goal in mind. Stockpile talent this year.
I’m good with the move. I like the competitive tension JD is bringing to the building.
