People say he's fat every single time he's about to return from injury. Every time he returns, he plays like Zion. It makes no sense whatsoever that the injury is healed but he's being held out.

If he needs 3 months of conditioning every time, you can’t build around him.

Yea. 2019 was the only season he didn't have a season ending injury and we definitely saw him huffing and puffing when he was on minute restrictions. Literally every significant injury after that were season ending injuries.

He can definitely perform at a high level while overweight but conditioning and weight continues to be a thorn in his recovery.

Not what is being discussed.

And if it is, we have no star to build around based on your logic.

Nah, not year 2

He played with the thumb injury for weeks. He didn't stop playing because the injury wouldn't allow. He stopped playing as we were out of contention and they shut him down.

Big difference there.

Lines up exactly with what Shams said 2-3 days ago. “Conditioning” Dude is healed, but he’s 310 pounds.

That’s not it man. You can play overweight.

If this keeps up, would Zion be the biggest bust in all of sports? Ever?

Because regardless of what his body can or can't handle, he clearly has no discipline or desire to do what it takes to maintain even the bare minimum conditioning.

Your post heavily insinuated he was injured and couldn't play any longer.

That was not the case in year 2

My feeling is Zion isn't necessarily working with the team on his rehab (someone can correct me if I'm wrong) and he's got people in his ear telling him not to play. Power play to get out of nola.

I can’t imagine how Kobe ould have handled Zion. At least Shaq came in and still dominated.

They fired SVG impart to appease his family. I highly doubt things were all of the sudden fixed.

All the rumors with previous injuries was Zion was pushing to return sooner than the team would allow.

Consider this possibility:

He’s not healed to a level you’d ever consider bringing him back during the regular season.

He’s not there yet, but he and the team are willing to give it a go despite risk of another re-injury and re-aggrevation.

So the question is when exactly you bring him back… probably not to improve your playin seeding. Save it for actual playin game or hopefully the first round at worst.

So basically he’s out of shape.
