Trail Blazers get: CP3 and Okafor

Hornets get: Rudy Fernandez, LaMarcus Aldrige, and Wes Matthews

That'd be freaking sweet if we could pull that off

will the fans support a chris paul-less decent Hornets team?
I definitely don't think they will, maybe in the beginning but i don't see it lasting unless we bring in another person who turns into a superstar.
Don't get me wrong i say do whats best for the team but Paul is a special player and i definitely think the franchise will suffer unless they start going deep into the playoffs.

Who's going to be the center on this team if Okafor gets shipped out?

I see a PF and 2 guards to NOLA in this trade but no center.

If they'd traded him BEFORE Maverick Carter and the other LeBron jackasses started doing a full-court press to do so? No.

If they trade him AFTER he pouts his way out of town? Possibly, as anger at him helps take attention away from the fact that the on-court product will be down.

Aldrige is 6'11 thats adequate for a center. So the starting 5 would like so:

PG: D. Collison
SG: M. Thornton
SF: R. Fernandez
PF: D. West
C: L. Aldrige

Bench: Posey, Pondexter, Head(?), Songalia, Gray

Aldridge is not going to guard a solid 5.

Hornets are kind of fricked here IMO. Paul wants to leave..... no matter what we get back for him it won't be as good as having him in uniform IMO. We don't have cap room to get guys to surround him with. Just a shite sandwich.

Well neither can Okafor. At least with Aldrige we get a guy that can spread the floor a little bit and he can score. If you want to go big, then sub in Gray and Songalia to play better D in different situations.

Plus Monty has coached these guys for a couple yrs now in Portland so he knows what their strengths are and can make gameplans more effective to combine them w/ Hornets strengths

thats the way i see it for a little while, unless they win. Without a solid star you have to be winning and without Paul they will have to at least make the playoffs to bring in the fans

2 years guaranteed, 1 year player option for 2012-2013.

The numbers are about $14.9 million, $16.4 million, and $17.79 million.

We'd probably ask for Oden or Pryzbilla in that deal. Or just wait it out for Marc Gasol.

Why wait, they should be on the phone talking about Gasol already.

He'd probably be OK with that. He and Rudy Gay are butt buddies.

Aldrige is David West plus 3 inches.

as far as a trade, I dont think we should hesitate to deal with Dallas. I know they are in our division and all, but they could maybe get us the best deal back.

Caron Butler and Tyson Chandler expiring. Butler is still a servicable player that can help us this year.

maybe even take on Jason Kidd for 2 years

or even look at Houston, maybe add Ariza, Aaron Brooks and a Jordan Hill type or that 1st round pick they have from the Knicks next year.
