NO! why spend 3 mil a year on a guy who would sit on the bench and just take up space. I dont want a Cleveland+andrew bynum fiasco in NOLA.

You gotta admit this is a distinct possibility. I'd like to sign the dude. But I think wherever he goes he winds up getting hurt. This is the quintessential crap shoot.

You're not going to have the attitude problems with Oden like you would with Bynum.

ya, he could not play...the funny part is it would never be a Bynum type situation...we're talking about 3M and a guy with already low expectations

...still think it's worth the chance even if he never plays. If he does get healthy, the Pels won't have a chance at a player of his caliber for 3M ever again.

So why waste 3 million for one season?

why not?

...we don't if he'll play or not. I think it's worth the risk, and I don't see it having a major impact in our our cap situation

Why not waste $3,000,000? Well, I can name 3,000,000 reasons right off the bat.

if Oden can get healthy, he's worth a lot more than 3M...the Pels should take advantage of the opportunity to get a great talent for cheap.

The reward outweighs the risk big time.

The healthiest he can possibly get now is not what he was 5 years ago. That's the part some people are ignoring. His upside WAS huge. Now, his upside is 15-20 minutes a game.

Depends on how much we reward him. If we risk a 2nd year guaranteed on him, I think the risk is too much for my liking.

I know most people on PT wipe their asses with gold bars, but I'm just a bit more frugal.

I'm not ignoring this...but he WAS going to a great center--one of the best in the league.

If he can become just a shell of that, he's still worth a lot more than 3M...we've all seen what mediocre centers go for.

He's a talented guy. It's worth the risk for this team, and it won't affect us significantly cap-wise in the future. Our money is already tied up.

If by some miracle, he can return to near full-strength, it's the kind of move that could really make us contenders.

In no world, would this move be a Posey type situation, that keeps us from getting better in the future.

Depending upon the quality of the 15-20 minutes, he could be well worth $3 million.

i blame his injuries more on Portland than the man himself, seeing as they pushed him onto the floor when he was not fully ready or fully healed
