I’m going full Toronto cheering injuries next season if Kawhi goes to LA. You won’t be able to wipe the smile off my face. frick all three of them
I’d go to Visions and buy a round of lap dances for everyone if any of them tear an Achilles. If by some miracle all three suffer major injuries, all of PT is invited to a suite at a Pelicans game followed by Pappy and high dollar escorts.

Some positive news: fox sports deleted broussards tweets about kawhi and the Lakers

I think injuries are inevitable. AD is simply not durable. LeBron is like... 36 near the start of the season? If they get Kawhi, they'll have no depth. I would be surprised if Davis played more than 70 games next season. Same for LeBron.
Also keep in mind the Pelicans don't start getting picks from the Lakers until 2021. So what happens this upcoming season isn't directly relevant (although if they win a title then obviously it's easier for them to retain AD and recruit other players).

How is that dude still employed?

Someone needs to convince Jeannie the 373 Max is the ideal team plane for the new look Lakers.

2021 is 9-30 protected it won’t convey
2022 is unprotected
2023 is a swap
2024 or 2025 is unprotected
it’s not about the picks

Let’s go. At this point the only “source” saying Kawhi to the lakers is that reddit guy...hope the clippers meeting goes well or he stays in TOR.

For some on this board, it's more about "F*ck AD!"
Not for me. I don't care about AD at this point. I ain't concerned with revenge. Don't hate him. For me, it's more about the picks.

Same. Although I'd prefer not to see these 'super teams' dominate, I don't hold any malice towards AD or LeBron. It's about the picks.

The time he "confirmed" that Lebron was going back to Cleveland when the Lee Jenkins column was already up on SI.com can't be topped. Every other screw up is just small potatoes after that.

I love that "Kawhi is a Laker" is now up over 19k tweets. Hilarious.

So, as someone just kind of dipping my toe into NBA (and particularly Pelican) fandom:
If Leonard does indeed go to the Lakers, is it pretty much a given that fairly often who the best teams are, is determined by two or three guys deciding to play together in one of the larger media markets? Does it look to be that way for the foreseeable future?

Here’s one solution. No more max contracts, offer players as much as you want. A hard cap and no vet minimum exceptions. If you need to fill out your roster and you can use undrafted free agents
That makes the super teams quite a bit more difficult to form.
If players will take massive payouts to form super teams there isn’t much you can do
