It'll be addition by subtraction. Leads evaporate when he plays more than 5 minutes straight.

He went 4-4 from 3 and had the second highest +/- tonight.

I don’t disagree with you, but tonight ain’t the night to trash him.

Someone called him Thybulle in the game thread and that’s about right although Herb has a bit more ball skills, but the basic premise is the same. Great D doesn’t make up for playing 4 on 5 on O, so he either has to at least be functional on O (doesn’t have to be MJ just functional) or he is going to be a negative on the floor. Unfortunately he is failing the test so far.

we used to see timely slashes from him but it seems like we’ve tried to force him into being a shooter instead and it hasn’t worked

Utilize that 4 for 4 night to our trade advantage while other teams are clamoring for him.

I think the problem with Herb is he makes sense on a unit where you have shooting at every other position. With Zion, he becomes the obvious guy you cheat off and funnel the ball to take an open shot(cause you are already packing the lane so Herb's slashing is disrupted).

Other than that, he is more suited to a bench role offensively.

Like a Thybuille.

Its unfortunate Trey hasn't taken a few more steps forward defensively, Dyson offensively, cause both would be better compliments to what we run out with the starters.
