Have you seen Ja's shot?

He shot 64% from FT line and 32% from 3

If u wanna get real, why are you point shaving his stats? And I know it’s a troll but I want to entertain anyway
3pt percentage in freshman year:
Zion: 33.8%
Ja: 30.7%
Ja did however raise his % to 36.3% in his second year, but who is to say Zion wouldn’t do that?

Also in conference, Zion and Ja both shot 37% from 3pt

I do agree Ja is a better 3pt shooter, but it is not by a wide margin. Even if it were a wide margin, it does not matter as much for Zion as it does for Ja because of the way they play

And you are worried about his shot, which is above average already?

I think most people are concerned?

I agree he’s a double/ double lock but Morant could be a triple double player. Still I think the pick will be Zion and I’m cool with it but I still feel Zion is a SF in the NBA.

You do realize that Zion is a highly highly skilled player outside of just dunking.

The thing that doesn’t worry me at all is that to go along with his extreme athleticism is that he’s a great passer, a great defender, blocks shots well, runs the floor very well, has an extremely high motor and has a high b-ball IQ.

All of that translates really well to the NBA. A shot is ironically one of the easiest things to develop or work around for a guy like that.

look at it one of two ways. I think Morant is the absolutely the safer of the two. But he's not going to bring in any stars with him. He's an Allen Iverson or think the PG version of AD. He's going to ball out but he's not going to win you a championship and he's not going to bring anybody in. He's not an organization-changer.

Zion could be that. He could be the next Anthony Bennett. Or he could be the next superstar of the NBA, the guy that helps bring in a key FA or two that helps him win a championship here and completely changes the trajectory of our organization. He's a potential Giannis. He's also a potential Anthony Bennett that could sink our franchise.

I disagree with almost every one of these points. That’s impressive.

Morant was the singular reason I wasn’t ready to jump off a bridge if there had been truth to those rumors. I woulda still been pissed, but Morant is a hell of a “consolation prize”.

There is almost nothing in their mental makeup that makes AI and Morant similar, and it’s actually kind of insulting to Morant to compare him to Iverson in a variety of ways, including that one.

While you were busy focusing on Zion's arguable range weakness as a disqualifier, you completely overlooked the fact that Ja Morant is a mini-Penny Hardaway.

Love Ja as a contender's component, but much like Penny, he is not the bedrock that can carry an NBA team practically solo (like Russell Westbrook did).

Zion, at worst, would be the main foundation equal to what AD has been for this franchise.

This might be a very ironic thing to tell you, but don't overthink it.

Zion is the best player. Accept the conventional wisdom. Move on.

Simmons can't shoot because he has poor work ethic and his brother is his shooting coach (have you seen how Australians shoot the ball)

But New Orleans also has a track record of helping players with their shot. AD completely changed his shooting motion once he got to New Orleans. Randle and Payton shot the ball more effectively after arriving. So in other words I'm not all that concerned about Zion's shooting.

Morant is not a good shooter. So you can throw that narrative out

That doesn't even make sense.

I said I'd rather be in the WCF than be in complete rebuild mode - only 1 year after the Pels swept the Blazers.

First time in the WCF in 19 years. When was the last time the Pelicans made it to the WCF?

Might not win it - GS is a historically good team, even without Durant. But at least the Blazers are here. Lots of great playoff experience for the Blazers. THey will be a better team because of it.

You are just misinformed, zions shooting from the perimeter isn’t great but he’s a threat from outside, completely unlike Ben Simmons. Zion shot 33.8% from 3 last year. Ja shot 34.2% for his career. If this is what your argument was based on then It’s made it more clear than ever that the superfreak of a human that shoots almost the exact same 3pt % as Ja. I mean Ja got potential no doubt. But he’s not safer and will take longer to develop his game than Zion. Zion can still be much better. But he’s NBA ready now too. Rookie of the year. Probably stats like 17 ppg , 8 rpg, 2 assists, 1.5 blocks, 2 steals, fg% 54, 32% from three and a giant defensive pest. That’s possibly lowball predictions too

It’s not a bad opinion, but why draft Morant #1 when you can get Zion #1 and RJ number #3?

Would you go Morant and RJ? I wouldn’t.

You get Zion #1 every time.

I'm a morant fan.

Ai was faster.

Morant is a better passer.

Morants shooting has improved over freshman year.

I like Morant a lot. I could see the Pelicans targeting him. I wouldn't doubt if Knicks, Grizz, Pelicans trade on draft day. Get Zion and Morant.

I like Morant a ton as well.

I much prefer him over RJ.

Zion is the guy you take at 1. If AD isn’t going to sign long term then I wish there was a way to get Morant.
