My biggest problem was Monty was given this recognition without accomplishing anything. Yes, he made to the playoffs when Chris Paul finally started giving a shite and made it a series with the Lakers. And yes, Monty got his team to play hard for him the year after. But all the praise he was getting was unwarranted, to me at least.
His in game adjustments and strategies need to improve. I want to win, and I know y'all want to win. If Monty can't win with this team, we need to move in a different direction.

Most people are clamoring for him to be fired because his teams with no talent were bad. Sure he's made mistakes, but Jackson, Auberbach, and Larry Brown weren't winning THAT many more games with these teams.
We'll know if he "has it" based on the changes he makes with this roster. If he trots out the same philosophy/schemes we've seen the last three years, he needs to go.
One thing to remember, Doc Rivers was underwhelming as a coach for a long time. His years in Orlando were meh and he was not terribly good in Boston until he got Garnett/Allen and Thibodeau. Now he's universally acclaimed and not just because of RINGZ. There's no guarantee Monty becomes a great coach, but it does take time for guys not named Phil Jackson or Gregg Popovich to learn. Even Furious George was a dud his first 4 years coaching.

Monty has had shite rosters since he's been here. And that includes his first year (which possibly could be upgraded from shite to weak). While he has been stubborn at times and his in game decisions may occasionally have been suspect, I have been willing to give him a break.
Now he has to show us something. I don't think it's playoffs or die for him. But the team needs to be competitive and at least be sniffing the playoffs at the end.
