`` The mascot doesn’t matter,’’ said forward Ryan Anderson, who was acquired in a sign-and-trade deal this summer from the Orlando Magic. ``I’m playing for New Orleans. It’s not really in our control. It’s tough when something is out of your control and you don’t have a say in it. But I’m just happy to be playing in the NBA; I’m pinching myself every day that I’m here.’’

Eric Gordon said via a phone interview that he doesn't mind the name change.

"It's a pretty good name. I'd probably rather Hoosiers or Suns, but that's just my opinion," the oft-injured Gordon said. "If our owner, David Stern, thinks it's good for the organization to get rid of the name and get a new one, then I'm behind it."

Anderson's quote sounds like he actually doesn't like it but won't come out and say it:

I'm not sure if it was true, but someone said that J Smoove was laughing at the name on a radio show yesterday.

ETA: I was wrong, it was Smith, not Anderson.

Eric Gordon has a pretty good attitude about everything involving New Orleans and the organization as a whole.
