i didn't read the article, but i would imagine it would be a purely defensive move.

General
Aminu
Anderson
Davis
Lopez

Can't understand the logic of playing him at SG other than

We aren't stacked with great SGs right now, but we have guys that can shoot better than Aminu, and could use those minutes at that position (Rivers, Miller, Henry).

I only skimmed through the article, but I'm guessing (rather hoping), this isn't for a starting lineup, but more for a big lineup to use at the end of games to play some defense and rebound.

I want to figure out how to combine Aminu and Miller. That'd be an adequate starting SF. Any mad scientists on this board?

True to a degree.

BUT... if the idea is to move Aminu over so that we get more minutes out of Anderson, our best shooter, it helps balance things out.

Could this be a sign that Monty feels that Afa failed at SF?

Or dribble.

Or pass.

Certainly a bold move. Our enemies will never expect it.

But seriously, I have to think it is purely defensive as Quail said.

I guess he wants to get Ryno in the starting lineup and he thinks that Aminu is the lesser of two evils compared to Rivers/Mason Jr.

Shooting guard has always been an achilles heal.

Hell our best shooting guard of all-time (since the NOLA move) is now the color commentator for us.

He's trying to totally confuse our opponents. Brilliant strategy. Monty is an innovator:

PG: Robin Lopez/Anthony Davis
SG: Aminu/Jason Smith
SF: Brian Roberts
PF: Austin Rivers
C: Greivis Vasquez
