Who could we afford and who would fit best? All are unrestricted...

None of them.
Ariza is probably the best but will get more than the MLE from the Wiz, it seems. Deng will get way more.
We want nothing to do with Beasley.

I like Deng but he doesn't fit with Tyreke, he's not a good shooter.

The Pelicans are over the cap with Asik on the books. They can't even afford Aminu. Aminu made like $4 Million last season.
Right now they can afford Luke Babbitt.

Caron Butler IMO would be a good rent a forward for a year Or 2. He still has a good shooting touch and is decent on defense. Opinions?

I think he's assuming we make a move that allows us to use the MLE.

I would love Ariza back in N.O. btw... But it will be hard to do

What about Danny Granger? I think he is unrestricted

We don't want Michael Beasley.
Trevor Ariza and Luol Deng are pipe dreams. Ariza just made 7.7M and he's probably due for a pay raise from Washington. Deng turned down a 3/30 from Chicago before he was traded so obviously he expects to be worth more than we can offer. Both of them are too expensive right now.
Caron Butler was making 8M/yr with OKC and is also 34. I get James Posey vibes from the idea of signing him -- not a terrible player but not at all worth what we'd have to offer to get him.
No idea what we're doing about the 3 spot, at this rate I would guess we wait out next year, make the playoffs and then make a move with Eric Gordon's contract expiring the year after. Dell might make some voodoo happen but no one can really predict what that would be

If anything, Dell gets a guy none of us are even talking about.

PJ Tucker is a FA as well

He only made that because that was an MLE contract under the previous CBA, 5 years/$35 millionish The MLE today is closer to $5 million per year, around 4/$22, which I think is his market value if Washington chooses to go another direction.

Yea. So maybe an UFA contract would be ideal? Maybe CJ Fair is the best option right now?

true
can't see WSH going another direction tho

McNamara has been beating it to death, but PJ Tucker really is the best fit for us at the 3, both skill wise and financially.
Deng and Ariza are pipe dreams. We don't need them anyway, we just need to add a "specialist" at that position. We don't want a ball dominant 3 like Deng and Ariza's track record says he's not the player he was last year; whoever signs him it will be for way more than he's worth.
Other than Tucker, I think Marvin Williams, CJ Miles, Richard Jefferson etc are some options they may look at
